Sharing the Top 10 blog posts of 2021 from Life On Virginia Street!
At the end of each year, I love taking a trip down memory lane to explore everything we accomplished both personally and professionally. With that, I always research which blog posts from the year were most popular. It not only helps with planning future content, but I always find this post each year to be so interesting, seeing what type of content you loved the most! It’s also interesting to see how much Pinterest or Google users can sway the results. With that, today I’m sharing my top 10 blog posts of 2021!
Prior Top 10 Blog Posts
It’s hard to believe, but January marks fourteen years of me blogging! Needless to say, I have created a lot of content over the years! This past year in particular, I created 15-20 posts per month, which makes for a lot of content to read! So, I always finds it helpful to recap my most read posts of the year! If you’re newer here, this is a great way to see some of my top projects and posts from over the years. And if you’re a long-time reader, you may enjoy seeing some of these posts again!
If you’re interested in my prior Top 10 Posts, I’ve included those below as well!

Many of the posts in those lists also made it into my top for 2021, but for today’s post, I’m only including blog posts that were actually published in 2021 – not just read or visited this year.

Posts published later in the year always have a disadvantage because they don’t have as much time to “marinate” on sites like Google and Pinterest. So, I’m always excited to see posts published later in the year that can still hold their own with posts from earlier in the year! But, this year, some of the numbers were so dang close that I wanted to point out a few posts that almost made the list, but are absolutely worth mentioning. Honorable mentions go out to my posts on: The Best Black Paint Colors, Traditional Coastal Coffee Tables, Garage Makeover Reveal: Part I, 2021 Christmas Home Tour, Small Guest Bathroom Remodel Reveal, and The Tudor House Renovation Reveal!
Now, let’s dig into the ten post popular posts on my site from 2021!
After years of searching, we finally replaced our spindle chairs in our living room this past year. And with that, I shared all of the contenders I researched before making an order for the new ones! You can get sources for all the chairs in the graphic (and many more) in my post on Modern Coastal Living Room Chairs!
It’s pretty clear you guys love a good Walmart or Target find! My post on my Favorite Walmart Home Decor Finds for Spring & Summer took the #9 spot of the year. And when I publish my top 10 best selling items of the year, I can pretty much assure you that patio furniture will be back with another mention!

My post on The Best Faux Fiddle Leaf Fig Trees & How To Make Them Look Real has actually been around for a few years, but I republished it last year with even more info! There are a lot of tips that could be applied to other faux greenery as well!
Our Jack & Jill Bathroom Remodel Reveal was one of the most impactful projects we’ve completed in our home over the years! It had been on my “to-do” list for essentially all nine years we’ve lived here, so it was so fun watching our plans come to life!
The pool house project was obviously our largest project of the year, and despite being published with only six weeks left in the year, I was excited to see it in the top posts! We poured our hearts and souls into this project the past few years (and especially this year) and is for sure my favorite project to date!
It’s safe to say, that the Studio McGee line at Target pretty much killed it all year! So many gorgeous designer look for less pieces at Target prices! I believe the 2022 spring line launches soon, and I’m excited to see what the new collection brings!

These posts always do well, which tells me I need to get another one done for you soon! Holding the #4 spot was my Interior Design Looks for Less: Volume 3 which included five design boards filled with some really great look for less options!

It was pretty clear to me that a lot of people were undergoing or researching bathroom renovations this past year! My small bathroom ideas post was a top performer, but you can also see how the space turned out in my post on our Small Guest Bathroom Remodel Reveal.

I’ve republished my post on Christmas Tree Collar Ideas & Picks for four years running now, and it continues to be a top performer every year! Turns out you guys must love Christmas tree collars as much as I do! And although the best ones tend to sell out by late October or early November, I’m guessing many will be restocked soon if you want to grab one for next year!
It certainly helps that my post on How to Organize Kitchen Cabinets and Drawers was one of my earlier posts of the year. But, this post rather dramatically took the lead. And it’s a perfect reminder now as we head into the New Year and people get on an organizing kick! I share tons of tips, tricks, and favorite organizing pieces in the post, as well as a look inside some of our cupboards and drawers!
With this being my last post of 2021, I want to thank each and every one of you that have been along for the ride! I wish you all a happy and safe New Year, filled with many blessings and joy!
