I mentioned recently that we’ve finalized our lighting package with our builder for our new build. They use a local lighting store, which has been helpful to work with to get a cohesive look for the entire house. But, they mostly carry designer light fixtures that come at designer prices, so our budget didn’t go far.
Since all of the rooms in the home also include can lights, we decided to focus our budget on some statement lighting, particularly in areas that will be hard to swap out down the road. That includes our entryway (which is about 25 feet high), our kitchen, our office, and dining room. We also found a chandelier for the bedroom we’ll be using that has a vaulted ceiling. Other than that, we’ll have many of the other fixtures capped for the time being. This is due in part to budget (I don’t need $800 fixtures in the bathrooms), but also because I want to select items like bathroom mirrors, etc. first so they all can work together. So, I’ve started the process of looking for some of the secondary lighting at other retailers.
Designer Style Light Fixtures from Amazon
One of the first places I looked for some of the additional lighting for our home is Amazon. I’ve used a number of light fixtures from them over the years, and it’s a great source for designer look for less options, or some unique finds you may not get elsewhere. I’ve found it helpful to read the reviews on brands you may not recognize, and I always enjoy seeing customer photos in the review section to see how fixtures may look “in real life”. Today I’m sharing my latest favorite Amazon light fixtures finds, several of which we’re considering for our new build! I’ve included a variety of price points and light fixture styles.
