Weekend Recap

Good morning, and happy first Monday of fall! I hope you all had a nice weekend! Here’s a bit of what we’ve been up to around here.

Saturday, Kurtis spent much of the afternoon cleaning outdoor furniture and prepping the pool for closing this week.

On Sunday, after everything had dried, we moved it to the garage. The garage is starting to get a bit chaotic again with the different sections! The buyers of our home purchased all of the outdoor furniture, so we have a section for them that needs to stay. What you don’t see is the other two piles: the stack of everything going to Florida with us as well as our stack for donations that we continue to add to (and then drop off once we have a full load).

All of our furniture has been sold that we needed to sell. We had our friend Nick help pull the top of the hutch off so when pick-up occurs, it will go a lot more quickly. I knew the hutch had been in place since I painted the dining room Simply White. The hutch was full and way too heavy at the time. Needless to say, I have a little painting project on my hands before we leave next week 😉 I also have some touch-ups to do in various rooms. But overall, we’re in really good shape!

The plants outside are definitely proving it’s fall too! The sedum are blooming now, and they’re always so pretty!

Around Town & For Fun

It was a lot more work than play around here last week! But we did go out to the pool Monday and Tuesday evenings, since we knew it would be the last time! We had temps in the high 90s those two days, and then fall arrived shortly thereafter. The pool officially closes this coming Wednesday.

I had a hair appointment on Friday, and it’s always my favorite two and a half hours! I wore this sweater because it was actually pretty cold out! Loving the sweater even more than I thought I would – it’s a really cute one! Too bad I didn’t have time for a pedicure. Yikes!

Friday night, we had a final dinner and cards night with Kurtis’ sister and brother-in-law. Per usual, it was a lot of fun! We’re hoping they frequently make the trek to Florida so we can continue the tradition 😉

Saturday morning, we drove out to Valley to have coffee with one of our good friends. He moved into a former Street of Dreams home and bought it furnished, so of course I was admiring all the decor. It was such a beautiful fall morning and we were so happy to catch up with him!

Hawkeye is loving his new perch in the dining room 😉

I’m flying out to Dallas today for the LTK influencer conference until Thursday night. It should be a lot of fun, although, admittedly my head really isn’t in it right now with all that’s going on. We’re also praying hard for all of Florida and the gulf as hurricane Ian intensifies. It’s hard not being down there right now to prep things when we have two house that could potentially be affected. But we’re taking it hour by hour and really are hoping that everyone is safe and minimal damage occurs.

The big move is NEXT WEEK! Lots to do, but we’re feeling good about where we are, and are ready to get down there!
