Good morning, and happy Valentine’s Day! Kurtis and I have never been great about celebrating this particular holiday but hopefully you guys have something fun lined up! Here’s a bit of what we’ve been up to this past week.

Home Projects & Updates
We hosted a few times last week, which made me get my act together on random things around the house. I had a few donation piles that had accumulated over the past few months, so we dropped those off. I also worked on stocking our pool house with items that didn’t fit well in our kitchen cabinets. It’s so nice to have all the extra cabinet space out there, particularly as it relates to some of the more oversized serving pieces! Nothing like the feeling after a little spring cleaning! According to my Apple Watch, I walked 5.6 miles IN OUR HOUSE while cleaning yesterday. Not sure which I dislike more – cleaning or working out 😉

These faux greenery stems I used last year in our office are back in stock! I have five stems here (which used to be one of their pre-packaged amounts) but they currently sell them in pairs. They’re a really great look for less for the Pottery Barn version I love. The green on these is darker, but the stems are still very pliable (don’t let it freak you out if they come folded in a bag).

I was finally able to snag a pair of these nightstands last week when they restocked! The minimal reviews are mixed at this point, but I’m having them shipped to Florida to give them a try. Once we get down there later this month, I’ll be sure to share my thoughts. I’m hoping they’ll still continue to do some re-stocks if they’re good ones!

In Case You Missed It
Following are the posts I shared over the past week, in case you missed some days!
Following are the most read blog posts of last week (excluding any of the new posts already mentioned above). Many times this includes old posts that are popular on Google or Pinterest.
Around Town & For Fun
Here’s a fun and little known fact for you. TWENTY years ago today, I made the move from Utah to Nebraska. I had just graduated from the University of Utah the prior December, and made the move for graduate school. I met Kurtis three months later, and the rest is history! I don’t have any pics to share from that time (were digital cameras even much of thing yet in 2002?!). But it’s crazy to think I’ve lived almost half my life in Nebraska now.
I met my friend Mandy for lunch on Wednesday. It was so fun to catch up. Our schedules had been so crazy in the fourth quarter that we never could find a day that jointly worked! Our nearly two and a half hour lunch was worth the wait! I ordered this puff-sleeve Dudley Stephens fleece on clearance a few weeks ago. This color already sold out but it’s another cozy one! I usually order an XL in their clothes because I don’t like the fleece to fitted, but I probably could have sized down in this one. I love the sleeve detail though!
Thursday night, Kurtis and I had our first 2022 taco feast. It was the first time we ate out together since December 28th or 29th. When we do Dry January (Kurtis actually does 40 days) and healthy eating, we always find it easiest to stay out of restaurants for the month. It’s never a bad idea to break that streak with tacos and margaritas! And they were every bit as good as we remembered.
We watched the Tinder Swindler on Netflix, and wow! It made me even more grateful to date in an era that didn’t really have social media, let alone Tinder! It was a super fascinating documentary if you’re looking for a two-ish hour show to watch. It still boggles my mind how people can do things like this, let alone get away with it for so long!
We’re always thrilled to get a batch of my mom’s homemade sugar cookies in the mail each year around Valentine’s Day. They never disappoint!
We had my sister-in-law and brother-in-law over for dinner on Friday night to recap their trip to our Florida house. I told them to make a list of updates for us, many of which we already knew needed to be done. But it’s always great to get another perspective. We have a laundry list of items we’re hoping to achieve later this month and some project lists for further down the road. I even have a few orders placed now (thankfully we have friends I can ship to) because these furniture delays are no joke! And even more challenging when we’re remote!
We hosted an impromptu Super Bowl party yesterday with three other couples. It was the first time we’ve had more than one other couple in the pool house and it was so fun! With the timing on the pool house completion, and having to cancel a family Christmas party due to an ice storm, it was fun to finally have a larger group out here! We felt like hosting newbies again, since it had basically been since the summer time, but it was fun to finally see how the space functions with a larger group! The guys mostly stayed in the living room area watching TV, while the girls spent most of the time in the kitchen area. It will be fun to watch how that evolves as the seasons change!
We always love a good charcuterie board! We were scrambling to get everything done before our guests arrived, so I had about 5 minutes to put this one together. But it still tasted pretty dang great!
This might have been the first Super Bowl ever where I didn’t watch a single commercial! The girls were all too busy talking! But, I did watch the halftime show and loved it. It might have been my favorite yet! Keep in mind I graduated high school in 1998 for those that weren’t as in to it.
It’s supposed to be 60 degrees here tomorrow, which is fun to look forward to! We might have to crank open the pool house bar window and have happy hour outside tomorrow night! I won’t mention that it then hits 30 for a high on Thursday 😉 But we’ll take what we can get this time of year. We’re so looking forward to spring and summer!

Try Jenna Sue Design for trips on furniture etc for rentals. She’s Florida based too.

I actually follow her! She does incredible transformations! I’ll have to see if she talks more about the furniture side of things anywhere and how she handles that. Thanks for the advice!

Ugh, that should have said tips, not trips!
