I still can’t believe September will be here in less than a week! And although I know summer will still be here in northwest Florida for a few more months, I’m looking forward to cooler mornings and evenings. I plan to decorate rather early this year for the holidays, so I’m officially starting my fall decor this week. Today I’m sharing my 2024 fall design boards with you.

Our 2024 Fall Design Boards
Admittedly, I actually finished this year’s Christmas design boards before I worked on the fall ones. When we lived in Omaha, fall meant closing the pool and the end of summer, and I never loved it. But I’m trying to embrace the change more now that we’re in Florida and I don’t have to dread the approaching winter! You’ll quickly see with these design boards that I’m going hard with the dusty blues and brown tones for fall. As always, a few things will likely change once I get to decorating, but these are the general plans to move forward. It helps to see everything “on paper” before I order and to take inventory of what I already own. Let’s jump into the design boards!
I’ve been contemplating the addition of a bench in our entryway for some time. I actually went to order this one when it was on sale a few weeks back and then realized shipping costs have gone up dramatically for us because of our distance to a shipping center. So, I found this one that has a really similar vibe! Still on the fence but we do need something in the space where we can sit and put on shoes, etc. Also, I think the cats would be obsessed 😉 My faux oak stems arrived yesterday and they are gorgeous in person! The added acorns are so perfect.
FALL ENTRYWAY SOURCES: Upholstered Bench (look for less here) | Velvet Pillow Cover | Gingham Pillow Cover | Moravian Star Chandelier | Console Table | Vase | Faux Oak Stems | Rattan Cane Box Set | Lamp | Rug
Moving into our kitchen, I like to keep the decor fairly simple with a swap of stems and rug. I’ve owned these faux turning oak leaves for several years now and they’re still one of my favorite faux stems! Fair warning though: they are massive so be sure to read the measurements. Most vases only need one stem. And if you’re looking for an amazing candle, I picked up this one at a local boutique last week and it is heavenly! I still haven’t decided on a rug yet, but I like the look of this plaid one.
FALL KITCHEN SOURCES: Striped Runner Rug | Faux Turning Oak Leaves | Beaded Vase (small size) | Woven Chandeliers (look for less options here) | Plaid Rug | Faucet | Pot Filler | Salt & Pepper Mills | Wood Serving Board | Hand Soap | Rosemary Candle | Swivel Counter Stools | Tortoise Glasses | Cabinet Knobs | Cabinet Bin Pulls | Rattan Sheets (still planning to back our glass cabinets with this) | Wall & Trim Color: Sherwin Williams Snowbound
I’m actually still undecided on throw pillows in the living room this fall, so I included a few options here that I’m considering!
FALL LIVING ROOM SOURCES: Woven Shades (Bonaire Flaxen) | Sofas (read my full review here) | Chairs | Coffee Table | Indoor/Outdoor Striped Rug | Linen Pillows | Reversible Floral & Paisley Throw Pillow Covers | Gingham Pillow Covers | Frame TV | Frame TV Art | Vase (small size) | Faux Oak Leaves with Acorns | Faux Turning Oak Leaves | Candle Sleeve | “Surf Tribe” | “Surf Like A Girl” | Ceramic Urchin Catchall | Lamps | Sofa Table
After painting our dining room Benjamin Moore Smoke a few weeks ago, I’ve decided to lean in to the brown accents for fall. I’m really loving the dusty blue and navy tones paired with brown this year. Such a great combo!
FALL DINING ROOM SOURCES: Dining Chairs | Dining Table | Rug | Chandelier | Velvet Pillow Covers | Vase | Faux Oak Leaves with Acorns | Abstract Art | Scalloped Placemats | Plaid Napkins | Velvet Ribbon | Tortoise Glasses | Bamboo Melamine Plates | Paint Color: Benjamin Moore Smoke
This is probably the trickiest season to decorate around the colorful rug in our loft. But I still love it so much, and figure if I kept the rest of the look fairly neutral, it can still feel a bit fall. By adding in woven textures and neutral fall accents, including updated Frame TV art, I think it all works!
FALL LOFT SOURCES: Woven Shades | Rattan Cabinet | Frame TV | Frame TV Art | Sectional | Belgian Linen Pillow Covers | Reversible Jacquard Block Print Pillow | Pumpkin Pillow | Similar Rug (also here) | Star Chandelier | Lamps | Console Table | Baskets | Vase | Faux Turning Oak Leaves | Faux Rattan Vase
Since I just updated our bedroom for summer with this quilt, I’m going to try and transition it for fall to get more use out of it. I figure if I pair some velvet or linen and warmer tones and swap the accessories, it can pass for fall for this year. Especially since the set is reversible so I definitely have some options!
FALL BEDROOM SOURCES: Upholstered Bed (look-for-less option here) | Nightstands | Chandelier | Rug | Reversible Quilt | Reversible Euro Shams | Belgian Linen Pillow Covers | Cotton Slub Braided Pillow Cover | Striped Sheets | Waffle Knit Blanket | Throw Blanket | Lamps | Scalloped Water Hyacinth Tray | Vase | Faux Turning Oak Leaves | Coral Style Mirror | Camp Stools
We don’t use the adjoining bathroom to get ready since the technical primary bedroom is my office on the first floor. So, it’s easy to style this one seasonally because it isn’t where we get ready and we don’t need the counter space. I’m looking forward to getting this wallpaper installed in the space soon! The cabinets are a stock blue called Aero Blue, but it is very similar to Benjamin Moore’s Santorini Blue.
FALL BATHROOM SOURCES: Scalloped Mirror | Sconces | Cabinet Knobs | Hand Soap | Faux Dusty Green Hydrangea Bundle | Striped Wallpaper | Scalloped Bath Mat | Buffalo Check Hand Towels | Paint Sample: Benjamin Moore Santorini Blue
Now that we finally hung a light fixture in our guest bedroom, I’m determined to get it styled a bit more. It’s literally just been sitting with a white bed, white bedding, and no color since we moved in. I’m trying not to go too overboard with pattern though, because I’ll likely be wallpapering the adjoining bathroom with this palm paper soon!
FALL GUEST BEDROOM SOURCES: Bed | Nightstand | Lamp | Bench | Rug | Wicker Chandelier | Quilt | Euro Shams | Linen Pillow Covers | Gingham Pillow Cover | Dresser | Vase | Faux Turning Oak Leaves | Wood Pumpkin | Palm Wallpaper
That wraps up this year’s fall design boards! I’m looking forward to getting started on them shortly!
