Home Projects & Updates
I’ll be sharing my fall design boards with you later this week. And although I haven’t actually started decorating for fall yet, I wanted to share a quick look at some of the Walmart fall items I shared in a collage last week.

After reaching out to a local wallpaper installer to set up a time to measure, I’ve been testing more and more wallpaper samples. I know I for sure want the powder bathroom and our upstairs bathroom done right away. This blue striped paper will be installed horizontally rather than vertically in our upstairs bathroom.

I’m still undecided in the powder bathroom, but will likely use one of these from Serena & Lily. I have two other samples on the way I want to test first. The picture is distorted a bit with the wide angle shot but I couldn’t fit much in the frame otherwise.

I finally selected a light fixture for our guest bedroom and we installed that yesterday. It was a bit of a challenging fixture with the three wires rather than a single wire with a typical chain. But I love how it looks and am excited to work on this space more. It needs it!

It’s hard to believe, but we’ve officially lived in our house for one year as of this coming Thursday! I plan to do a home tour with the updates we’ve made since that time. It will also kind of double as a semi-summer home tour before I start decorating for fall!

Around Town & For Fun
Kurtis was traveling for work most of the week last week. It was his longest time away in quite some time so it gave me plenty of time to work on things around the house and hit a few favorite stores around town!
SummerStory in Alys Beach is always a favorite stop. Everything is always styled so beautifully and I always manage to find a little gem (or candle) to bring home with me!
I also stopped into one of my favorite stores, BeCasa. I had seen that cute top on their Instagram page so wanted to check it out in person. They carry both home and fashion and I literally geeked out when I saw some shells they were selling. I have been looking for some large ones for ages and these were stunning. I’m not even exaggerating when I say this may have been my favorite purchase of the year!
I styled our entryway a bit for summer and this shell was the perfect finishing touch! I’ll share more later this week.

I also swung into Bohlert Massey, which is right across from BeCasa. They’re a local interior design firm but they have a cute little shop too. Most items are way out of my budget, but I always find a lot of inspiration and beautiful vignettes. They also tend to carry a small selection of fresh flowers you can purchase, and they also stock some really amazing candles and other styling pieces!
The cats were extra clingy to my side with Kurtis out of town. Both trying to look the cutest they possibly could.
Saturday night we headed to Santa Rosa Beach for dinner out with friends. It started to downpour when we left our house but then when we arrived, we were met by a beautiful rainbow!
We have a French friend who wanted us all to try his friend’s French restaurant, Renaissance. It was so delicious and such an enjoyable evening!
After hanging the light fixture in the guest bedroom, Kurtis and I headed down to the beach for a few hours on Sunday. We had lunch, relaxed a bit, and walked the beach for shells.
We then grabbed an early dinner before heading home and having a golf cart ride with Chris and Rachel.
We ended the night with the last episode of Suits. We’re completely done with the whole series now, and even though I was ready to be done with it, I may have also shed a few tears when it was over 😉
We’re off to Iowa and Omaha later this week for the long weekend to attend our niece’s baby shower and to spend time with family and our besties and goddaughters! We’re really looking forward to it!
