Sharing tips to consider when shopping for coastal beds, some tried and true favorite coastal bed options, and new finds you’re sure to love!
Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend! Today I’m going to share all about coastal beds. As we work towards essentially furnishing a whole home (since we sold our fully furnished), some of the tougher decisions have been around which beds to buy. Some of our tried and true favorites have long lead times right now, so I’ve spent the past few weeks tagging other options to consider. With that, I thought I’d share all the cute coastal bed finds from the past few weeks!

Coastal Bed Features to Look For
There’s something about a beautiful coastal bed that instantly sets the tone for an entire bedroom. It should feel light, airy, and relaxed – but still elevated enough to feel polished and timeless. The best coastal beds strike that perfect balance between casual comfort and refined style, creating a space that feels like a boutique seaside retreat rather than an overly themed beach room. Whether you’re furnishing a primary bedroom, guest room, or vacation home, the right bed can become the anchor piece that defines the look of the entire space.
When shopping for a sophisticated coastal bed, look for clean lines, classic silhouettes, and quality materials that feel natural and timeless. Upholstered linen headboards, woven cane or rattan accents, whitewashed or cerused wood finishes, and soft oak tones are all beautiful options. Skip anything too literal or kitschy, and instead focus on texture, craftsmanship, and subtle nods to coastal living. A tailored slipcovered bed can feel effortlessly elegant, while a spindle or panel bed in a soft neutral finish adds classic charm. Scale is important too – choose a bed with enough presence to anchor the room without overwhelming it.
Today I’m sharing some of my favorite coastal beds that feel fresh, sophisticated, and versatile enough to work in a variety of homes. Whether your style leans more classic East Coast, modern organic, or light-and-bright beach house, I’ve curated a beautiful selection of finds below. First I’ll share some we’ve used over the years, and then I’ll share even more recent finds!
Coastal Beds We’ve Used in the Past
I thought I’d first share a few beds we’ve used in the past that we love. As I mentioned in the post on The Items We’re Re-Purchasing for Our New Home, one of these easiest decisions was this upholstered wingback bed. We’ve had it for six or seven years (one of the few items we moved from Omaha). While we’ll likely be going with a different fabric this time (there are so many to pick from), we love how tall the bed is (you can also go with a shorter headboard). It’s actually incredibly difficult to find other wingback beds this tall – trust me, I’ve been searching for some!

A super budget-friendly alternative is this wingback bed that we have at Hola Beaches Casita. For the price, it looks great, but I don’t think it will trick anyone that it was super expensive. It’s quite a bit shorter than the PB version and the wings are much less substantial. If you love the look, it’s great for a kid’s room or rental! If you’re looking for a more middle of the road late, I’d consider this bed or this bed!

If you love the look of rattan, this low footboard version of our rattan bed in our carriage house is on major sale right now! It’s such a fun coastal look, and knowing what I know now, I would much prefer the low footboard version because this one is not the easiest to make up with bedding! You can see more pictures of the space and the bed in this post.

CARRIAGE HOUSE BEDROOM SOURCES: Rattan Bed (similar here) | Nightstands | Herringbone Rug | Lamps | Gallery Frame Kit | Florida Pennant | Gulf Coast Pennant | 30A Pennant | Sand Pennant | FL Pennant (many states available) | Shells Botanical Print | Tulip Shell Print | Striped Wallpaper | Oceana Wallpaper | Downloadable Art Prints | 30A Matchbox Printable | Striped Linen Duvet Cover | Organic Bamboo Sheets | Gauze Throw Blanket | Paint Color: Farrow & Ball Borrowed Light
When we moved into our current home, we came with only a handful of furniture pieces from Omaha (as we sold that house mostly furnished as well). I didn’t care what it took, and how little furniture we had in other rooms, I knew I wanted this tall linen bed in the sky blue linen. While we won’t be repurchasing it for the new house, I still love it so, so much! Since I’m going for a more neutral look in our future bedroom, there were much more affordable options than that perfect blue linen only Serena & Lily can achieve! With 145 fabric options to choose from, their beds really do let you customize the look so much.

As I shared in Saturday’s post, this look for less light blue bed has been restocked in a few sizes. It’s still a contender for the new house if they restock the king size in time!

If you don’t love the idea of upholstered beds (especially in a beach house rental), this wood platform bed we have at Hola Beaches is a great option! It comes in four stains (ours is the Biscotti).

HOLA BEACHES BEDROOM SOURCES: Wood Platform Bed | Linen Blend Pillow Cover | Striped Pillow Covers | Nightstand | Desk | Paper Mache Wall Art | Ceiling Fan | Seagrass Lamps: old from Target | Wall Color: Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray
We also have this woven seagrass bed in the first floor master at that house, and it’s held up incredibly well the past four years! We’re actually considering using this one in the carriage house at our new home.

HOLA BEACHES BEDROOM SOURCES: Woven Bed | Nightstands | Linen Blend Pillow Covers | Palm Print Pillow Covers | Striped Rug | Ceiling Fan | Bench: old from Serena & Lily | Lamps: old from HomeGoods
If you’re looking for a really fun option, these wavy headboards were one of my favorite finds for Hola Beaches Casita. They’re incredibly affordable and yet so chic!

Lastly, another bed we’ve moved with us from Omaha is this wood and cane bed. I actually bought this as a floor model from our local Pottery Barn nearly ten years ago and it’s virtually indestructible! Here it is in our recent guest bedroom refresh. It has been so popular over the years, they now offer it in three stain colors (including white). It’s a classic that won’t go out of style!

New Coastal Bed Finds
Following are even more coastal bed finds. I have it split into a section with beds from Wayfair and Quince and then a section with beds from a bunch of other places. I only have them split this way because I link the first two brands somewhere else than the rest – not because of any preferential treatment or anything!
