2023 Top 10 Best Sellers on Life On Virginia Street

As we prepare to close out my 2023, today I wanted to share the 2023 Top 10 Best Sellers on Life On Virginia Street. As most of you know, I share a weekly update in my Weekend Recap posts with the top sellers each week, but it’s fun to take all of that data in aggregate to see the all-time favorites for the year! Or maybe that’s just the math and statistics major in me coming out 😉 Before we get to the best sellers though, first and foremost, I want to thank each and every one of you that takes the time to visit my blog each day as well as those that choose to trust my recommendations. It truly means the world to me and I appreciate you all so much!

As I go through each item below, I’ll also share a little insight on each as to why I think they were so popular. I have also opted to delete a few items that made the list, if they were no longer available for purchase. It’s not super helpful or inspirational if you can’t buy those favorite items, right?! So, let’s jump into the most popular items I linked to over the past year. There are likely some items you recognize, but probably a few surprises mixed in, as well! This year, I’m actually going to change it up a bit too and split the list into top 10 Amazon favorites and then the top 10 from all other retailers. I think that you’ll quickly see my Amazon best sellers tend to be smaller and/or more gadget-related while the other retailers tend to be more fashion and decor focused, so it’s a fun mix!

Following are the two sets of 2023 top 10 reader favorites, counting down backwards in true countdown style!

Top 10 Amazon Best Sellers on Life On Virginia Street

#10 – Cane Wrapped Vase

This cute cane wrapped vase is still one of my favorites. I love that it comes in two sizes and is rather versatile. It also has a smaller mouth on the shorter size version, so it doesn’t need nearly the volume of stems that many other vases require.

#9 – Veggie Chopper

I use this veggie chopper to make my spicy cucumber salsa, soups, salads, stir fry and so much more! It saves so much time and makes all of your pieces the same size so things cook much more evenly and accurately.

#8 – Faux Greenery Stems

I’d argue that these Pottery Barn stems are my favorite faux greenery, but for the price, these Amazon faux greenery stems come in at a close second. They typically arrive folded up in a small bag and don’t initially appear to be great, but after a few quick minutes of bending their wire stems, they really are beautiful!

#7 – Faux Tulips

These faux tulips have been a reader favorite for several years now! You can also see them in #10 in the cane wrapped vase. Although I’ve only ever owned the white version of the tulips, I’ve been able to see other colors throughout the years from friends and family that have purchased them, and they’re all so pretty! They are very lifelike to the touch and add such a cheerful touch to any room!

#6 – Arm & Hammer Moisture Absorbing Bags

These moisture-absorbing bags have worked so well for us since our move to Florida. Despite living in a humid climate in Omaha, we underestimated just how humid it can get here! We hang these bags in our closet (near our shower) to help absorb extra moisture and keep the air a bit dryer. It’s pretty cool to watch these things in action! We prefer the fragrance-free option, but they do also offer a scented version if you need to clear up any musty odors. The six pack has lasted us about a year now!

#5 – Lip Mask

I put this lip mask (really a thick balm) on every night before bed. A little goes a long way to making my lips so much softer and less dry. My mom is now hooked on it, as well, and swears it’s the only thing that works for her in the dry Utah winters!

#4 – Faux Hydrangeas

These faux hydrangeas were my favorite faux floral find of the year. I loved them so much after I bought the first white set (shown below) that I then bought another white set, a lime green set and later a blue set! They have the same real-touch feel as my favorite tulips above. They are fairly sizable so you don’t need many to fill most vases, and since they’re sold as a set of three, I would argue most vases wouldn’t ever require more than two sets max.

#3 – Fruit Fly Trap

This fruit fly trap has been a game changer for us over the past year or so. I’m not sure about where you live, but I’ve talked to multiple people across the country that said the fruit flies were the worst they’d ever seen them! This trap has worked really well for us, and we love that it doesn’t contain any chemical insecticides. The biggest nuisance for us is the blue/purple LED light it produces, but it’s definitely much less annoying than the pesky bugs! It works on flies, fruit flies, moths, gnats, and more.

#2 – Airplane Phone Holder

I can’t even begin to tell you how excited Kurtis is that one of his finds made the best seller list this year. He’d argue this airplane phone holder is one of his favorite purchases of the year, and he has found more ways to use this than you could even imagine possible. It’s perfect for someone who likes to watch video on their phone, if you use your phone for recipes in the kitchen, etc.

#1 – Rug Grippers

I’ve used these rug grippers for several years now, and they work great to keep rug corners from lifting and to keep runners, etc. in place. They’re safe to use on LVP, hardwood, carpet and more! They claim to be reusable but I would argue they’re best only if used to lift the same rug and then re-lay it down. Not to use again on another rug.

Top 10 Best Sellers from Other Retailers on Life On Virginia Street

Next I’m sharing the top 10 best sellers from retailers other than Amazon. Here you’ll find a great mix of high/low decorating ideas, with items ranging from Walmart up to Serena & Lily.

#10 – Eastham Dining Chair

I was actually rather surprised to see our new dining chairs made the list since I’ve only shared them a handful of times, and don’t really have great photos of them. But they’re currently marked 50% off, plus today they announced they’re offering an additional 20% off and free shipping today with code FORYOU. They’re actually indoor/outdoor chairs, and although the white looks intimidating, the rope is coated and the cushions are performance fabric. We’ve had zero issues with them, even with our colorful gingerbread house decorating contest! If the link doesn’t work to these, they’ve likely sold out (it’s happened a few times over the past month or so). But they also offer this larger version if you’re interested!

#9 – Coloma Round Storage Coffee Table

This fluted storage coffee table likely would have been much higher in the list if it hadn’t been sold out for most of the year! But now, not only has it been restocked, it’s also available in a darker color option! I love that this table opens up from a seam in the middle to offer pretty extensive storage!

#8 – Market Coffee Table

I would argue that the Market Coffee Table is still one of the best values out there, especially when it goes on sale (which it does frequently). We’ve had this table for nearly five years now and it still looks brand new! We love that the white enamel top lifts off for storage, and the surface makes it so easy to wipe clean! We’ve used it in our den, pool house, living room and more – it’s so versatile! They also have coordinating side tables that we also own and love.

#7 – Sausalito Dresser

We’ve owned the Sausalito dresser for many years now, and it also traveled cross country with us. I really need to write a review on this collection because we also have owned the bed, mirror and the bathroom vanity (seen here). Needless to say, I have a lot to say about the collection and love that they have now added more color options as well as more pieces to the collection!

#6 – Fluted Resin Planter

I’m pretty sure this fluted resin planter was sold out within a week of sharing it, and never really came back in stock for shipping. BUT, I noticed last night it is officially restocked! I’m guessing it will go quickly again once word gets out. We actually have four of these and I love them so much! They’re such a great size and the resin works great in climates with freeze/thaw concerns. You can also see these again at our new house when you hit the #1 best seller below 🙂

#5 – York Sofas

When we moved from Nebraska to Florida, there were very few pieces of furniture that made the cut for the move. But Kurtis refused to part with our York sofas (see my full review, specs and more photos here). I ordered these bad boys in September of 2017 and they’re still going strong. Both they, and Kurtis, even survived the big red wine bottle spill of 2022 and came out mostly unscathed 😉 When my friend from Omaha came to visit in October, she couldn’t believe they were still our original sofas. The comfort on these with the bench cushion is unparalleled and we’re still so happy with them!

#4 – Time & Tru Mid Rise Straight Jeans

I probably don’t need to say much about these jeans because you’ve heard me talk about them at least monthly for the last year and a half! But at $17.98, they’re definitely one of my most favorite finds in several years! I now own three washes and love them all, but the Medium Wash is probably my favorite and the one you’ll find me in most often. They fit true to size, and at 5’9″, they are hit just above my ankle.

#3 – York Sectional

Our York sectional is another of the few pieces of furniture we brought cross country with us. We still love it so much and the fabric is basically indestructible. You can read my full review for the specs on what we ordered. But we’re still very happy with it, many years later!

#2 – Riviera Swivel Counter Stools

In our Omaha house, we had the regular Riviera counter stools and loved them so much (read my full review here). When it came time to select something for our new house, I searched high and low for a unique option. The challenge was that I really wanted our pendant lights to be the stars of the show, and I was having a hard time finding a wood or woven tone that didn’t compete with them. I made a last minute call to order the Riviera Swivel Counter Stools and we’re thrilled we did. We really loved our regular versions, but once we went with the swivel option, there’s no comparison! They’re equally as comfy, and the swivel makes it so much easier to get in and out of – especially when you have more than just a handful of chairs! However, these go on sale frequently enough that I would wait for a sale if you’re considering purchasing them!

#1 – Better Homes & Gardens River Oaks Outdoor Swivel Glider Chairs

These outdoor chairs have made the top ten list for four years running! We originally bought them in early 2020 for our Omaha courtyard (a lot more pictures in that post). They’ve since traveled across the country with us to our first house in Florida (shown in #6 above), and now to our pool cabana in our current house. They have held up incredibly well and may very well be the most durable outdoor furniture we’ve ever owned! The cushions are easy to clean, but also come with custom covers to use (we’re bad about covering ours). The best part is that they’re super comfortable, even for our 5’9″ and 6’2″ frames! We can’t recommend this budget-friendly set enough!
