Good morning! I hope you’ve all had a nice few weeks! We got home from the Bahamas Friday night so it was nice to have the weekend to get caught up on real life (aka laundry and cleaning). Here’s a bit of what we’ve been up to the past few weeks!

I recently updated our full home tour page! It includes every room in our home as well as sources and paint colors along the way. You can check it out here if you missed it, since it didn’t post in my regular blog feed.

I appreciate everyone weighing in on the pinch pleat drape question in this post. You all basically said what I already was thinking so it was good to have my thoughts confirmed! I’ve ordered another set of rings (and already had the extra panel) so I’ll be sure to post an update once they arrive and are installed. Unfortunately the rings were backordered for a month when I ordered them!

Around Town & For Fun
We had a lot going on the past two weeks, as we prepped to leave town for Kurtis’ company trip and then our time away.
I somehow scheduled both a hair appointment and dentist appointment the same day without realizing it (both booked out so far I just make up days that work). Thankfully they didn’t overlap. It’s hard to see in this pic, but I’m really loving these wide leg jeans if you want to try the trend. I’m 5’9″ and they aren’t too short on me with flat shoes and they have the perfect amount of stretch. They are a looser fit and run big so I’d order your smaller size if between sizes.
OUTFIT SOURCES: Striped Mariner Cloth Boatneck Top | Wide Leg Jeans | Mesh Mary Janes | Sunglasses | Rug
If you couldn’t tell from the bestsellers above, I shared a new video on Instagram of some recent Target sandals I bought for the Bahamas. I love them all!

Kurtis spotted two alligators in the spot he saw one a few weeks back. And THEN there was a bear at the pond across the street from us. We didn’t spot it in time but a neighbor texted me the pic. They go through trash cans regularly here if they’re left out, but ours has never been bothered. We’re guessing we have the cat litter to thank for that 😉 Never a dull wildlife day around here!
The night before we left for the Bahamas, we had wrapped up our 5-day fast-mimicking program which also coincided with National Margarita Day. I wore this top and it’s a new favorite. I already owned it in all black, but this stripe and chambray is a fun combo! At-home spray tan not included. The top fits true to size but the bodice is on the clingy side so I preferred the XL but it is loose. My Walmart shoes are sold out in this color combo but other options are available here. They’re super comfy and are what I wore on both travel days!
Our friend Chris was out of town, so Rachel brought our friend Louise as her date and the four of us celebrated.
Pro packing tip: I 10/10 do not recommend packing for a trip after celebrating National Margarita Day. Ask me how I know 😉 I had some fun surprises though when I unpacked in the Bahamas! Ha! Kurtis, who did not celebrate the day like the rest of us, could not stop laughing when he saw the shapewear I had chosen to pack for the trip. He was like, “what are these?!?!” He said our four year old goddaughter wouldn’t even be able to fit in them. Being a woman isn’t always easy!
We flew to the Bahamas early Sunday morning and were there until Friday evening and stayed at the Rosewood at Baha Mar. The trip is just as quick as us flying to Omaha (we have to go through Atlanta for both) and really easy overall. We love that when you come home, you actually do US Customs in the Bahamas, so you don’t have to mess with it once you land in Atlanta (it comes in as a domestic flight at that point). Love this pic as we flew in, with our plane shadow down below.
The resort was so beautiful, and I’d say for the most part, we preferred it over the times we’ve stayed at The Cove at Atlantis.
The flamingos were a highlight for me! So much so I made Kurtis go to the flamingo parade with me one day, where we walked around the property with the flamingos and mostly kids. Ha!
I’ll plan to post all of my Bahamas outfits later this week along with some other resort wear finds. But here were my returns the day before we left. It wasn’t pretty 😉

The trip started off a little slowly with a few rainy days, but it was so great catching up with friends that, I in particular, only see once or twice a year. Kurtis’ company has such a great family culture and we’ve been traveling with so many in this crew for 13+ years and have so many wonderful friends because of that.
We also ended this trip with the most perfect final day. We rented a boat with some friends that live in Atlanta and Nashville and it was such an incredible day! We had so much fun with the best people! We ended the night with a group sushi dinner and it was so hard to say goodbye to everyone.
This is literally the only picture of Kurtis and I together from the entire trip. Oops! I’m wearing this gauze coverup in XL (fits true to size but I wanted it loose).
The cats have a wonderful sitter but they’re always happy once we get home and don’t want to leave our sides. Henley’s new thing is to go under this blanket (typically only if Kurtis is on the couch). Out of our four cats, we’ve never had one of them ever have interest in being under a blanket. So we’re not sure why it took her almost 16 years to figure this out (and literally demand it).
Kurtis came home with a bad cold so we layed pretty low all weekend. He requested a big batch of this soup to get through the weekend. I also made a fresh loaf of sourdough, so it was a cozy weekend at home!
My friend Rachel asked me to go on a walk Sunday on the beach, and it sounded like a great way to get some fresh air and out of the house! Kurtis and I love the Orange Street access in Inlet Beach but I had never tried this particular spot (Phillips Inlet Beach access). Parking is limited but one of the few you can walk right out onto the sand without having to take stairs or a ramp over the dunes. It was a fun access point to try and we left our shoes in the car and walked from there. It was super quiet and we walked over three miles (basically down to the end of Rosemary Beach and back).
The water was so calm and clear, and there was little humidity or haze so you could see all the way to Panama City Beach in the distance. You can see we were nearly to the county line with the high-rise buildings over to the left (30A no longer allows buildings over 4-5 stories and we only have a handful that were grandfathered in). Just some fun 30A facts if you’ve never visited before. It helps keep that small town charm!
We spotted lots of seashells and one lone jellyfish on our walk. We both said we need to get out and do this more often!
The spring break season is quickly approaching on 30A and there’s always a buzz of excitement this time of year. We’ve noticed a measurable difference in how long it’s staying light outside these past few weeks. With the time change next weekend, we know it will only get better!
Kurtis heads to Omaha for a quick work trip this week and then our niece and her friend visit the following week for their college spring break. After that, Kurtis’ middle sister and husband will be visiting. It’s going to be a busy and fun spring!
