Good morning! I hope you all had a nice weekend and your first day of fall is off to a great start! Here’s a bit of what we’ve been up to the past week or so.

Home Projects & Updates
The exterior of our new build seems to be flying these past few weeks! They are adding a lot of the detail work now that adds so much more character!
Our Euro wall doors have all been delivered, as well. We’ll have a set in the kitchen, living room, and the back of Kurtis’ little garage gym.
They were also able to install a lot of the siding! It’s a mix of traditional horizontal planks and then a shake shingle still like this spot below. I’ll try and find the exact brand but basically it’s like a Hardie board.
Late in the week, they delivered all the drywall which was a fun surprise! They basically had to use a crane to get it all inside. It created quite the racket for several hours.
The majority of the rooms now look like this below. In the kitchen/living room that I’m showing, there is actually a second row behind this one. It’s everywhere!
We also had another AV walkthrough to finalize TV locations, speaker locations, etc. If you look closely in the pic above, they also installed the door frames for the Euro walls (basically giant glass sliding doors). With that, the AV crew had to run all the wires for the door alarms (our code requires it for pools). So much to coordinate!
We finally had our full house pressure washed on Monday. We’re supposed to be on a six month plan, but they stretched it to nine months this time, and man, it needed it! This area by our carriage house gets so bad because of the roofline and the shingle dust washing down on it. But having a white house in Florida is no joke between the bugs, the mildew, etc. But I sure do love them when they’re clean!

Around Town & For Fun
Early in the week we had dinner with one of Kurtis’ peers and his wife. It was such an enjoyable meal and I’m bummed I forgot to take a picture! We ate at Down Island, which we had previously only been to for lunch, and really really loved it!
We took a mid-week golf cart ride with Chris and Rachel, something we hadn’t done for quite some time. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and we’re back in the season where the sunsets just crush it almost every single day.
We had a free afternoon late in the week and decided to hit the beach. It was absolutely gorgeous out. The humidity was low and the water was calm and such a beautiful afternoon!
Sadly the shell hunting has not been successful at all lately! These were the only two we found that weren’t just tiny fragments.
Afterwards, we headed to Bruno’s for dinner! It’s such a great spot if you just want to head somewhere right after the beach. Definitely a “beach hair, don’t care” vibe. It’s literally the only time I drink beer any more. We couldn’t agree on thin crust or regular crust so ordered both in the small size and ate the leftovers all weekend.
The wildlife have been very active this week, including a bear that was picked up on our Ring camera! He is relentless with the trash cans around us lately.
Kurtis also saw a turtle and baby deer on his walk!
Friday night our little friend gang reunited after a few weeks at Amigo’s. This girly hacks into my phone most weeks to take photos and videos and it’s always pretty funny to see what is on my camera roll when I get home!
They had the 30Avenue green set up for a little Oktoberfest event the next day and it looked really cute!
Saturday we hit the beach for a few hours again. The beach was busy, as I think all the locals were excited for a beautiful weekend with fewer tourists.
We took a golf cart ride over to the new house once we got home and the sunset afterwards literally looked like fire. It was hard to capture, but the sun was a huge red ball through the trees and so beautiful!
On Sunday, my friend Kelley and her daughter Eliza arrived for a last-minute fall break trip! Kelley and I literally planned the whole thing while I was in Dallas a week and a half ago. Day one was a total success and Eliza is living her best life in Florida. She swam the Camp Creek lazy river for about an hour before they had to close all the water due to lightning in the area. That was a first for me!
Sunday night we all headed to Chris and Rachel’s for our Sunday friend dinner and bocce! It was so fun to have two of my work besties (both of whom I met through Instagram) meeting each other in real life!
After dinner and bocce, the girls did a night swim and performed a “concert” for us!
I’m taking Kelley and Eliza to the beach today and tomorrow before they head out on Wednesday. Then our Omaha besties and goddaughters arrive the following Wednesday! Visitor season is definitely here and will continue through November.
