Weekend Recap

Good morning! I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend! It’s so hard to believe that we’re already into September and the unofficial end of summer has come and gone. Here’s a bit of what we were up to this past week.

Home Projects & Updates

We had a lot of fun progress over at our new build. They installed several of the windows! I anticipate we’ll see a lot more go in this week.

Most of the HVAC supplies were also delivered and they began installing that as well, throughout the week.

They did more TyVek wrap, and they’re starting to cut out our little square windows in several of the roof peaks.

Some fun outdoor additions and most of it is on sale still!

We’ve also officially reached that time in the summer where I gave up watering my plants. Clearly 😉 Sadly they looked like this for a few weeks before I finally tore them out this past week.

With the summer planters out of the way, I also ordered a new fall wreath. It’s not much to look at when it arrives, but it fluffs out really nicely!

After seeing this picture, I realize I need to do a bit more tweaking but I’m really happy with it!

Around Town & For Fun

Our social calendar was overflowing this week, but it made for a fun week!

Rachel and I had a date on Tuesday at Amigo’s. It’s been awhile since it was just the two of us so it was a fun change!

Wednesday night we took the golf cart along with Chris and Rachel’s family (the boys rode their scooters) to the opening of Scout for dinner! It was the first time we had ever taken the golf cart to a restaurant (since this one is connected to our neighborhood) and it felt like we needed to document – awkward selfie and all!

Friday night, we attended a surprise birthday party for our friend Macon! Her husband hired Salty Beach Setups and it was such a beautiful evening! We had dinner on the beach followed by a bonfire, and then an after party at Rachel and Chris’ house.

A shot of the group that attended! It had rained most of the day but by the time the party started, it was cooler, dry and calm waters. Perfection!

The birthday girl and her hubby who planned it all! Sunset was killer that evening.

I tried to get a pic from further back. Night mode on iPhones is a bit tricky but it shows just how beautiful it all was (despite the blur).

Saturday, most of the same crew went to Scout for a late lunch and to watch some college football! Here’s what I wore.

The vibe is so cute at Scout, with golf and vintage sports themes. We sat outside and had burgers and hotdogs and it was a fun afternoon! Kurtis and I only stayed an hour or two so he could get back for the Iowa game.

Sunday morning Kurtis and I headed to the beach. It was absolutely gorgeous out and the water was showing off!

That afternoon, we had dinner at Chris and Rachel’s for our weekly bocce league. I was pretty proud of my new bocce “uniform” I put together. Yay sports 😉

I finally met Becky from Cella Jane. She and Rachel have been friends for years and she and her family came over to join in the bocce festivities. We’ll also get to hang out again at a conference I’m headed to next week so that should be fun!

We kept yesterday pretty chill since we leave to Vegas this morning. But we capped off a fun weekend with dinner at Amigo’s and time with the cats. Tonight we’re seeing The Wizard of Oz in The Sphere after several of you recommended it to me on Instagram. It’s supposed to be quite the experience! Then we’ll be back at The Sphere on Friday night for the grand finale leading into my birthday with the Eagles concert. I can’t wait!
