Good morning! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! It’s honestly pretty hard to believe that we’re already in the last weekend of August. Where did the summer go?! Here’s a bit of what happened around here over the last week or so.

Home Projects & Updates
Over at our new build, all of our windows were delivered which was pretty exciting to see!
They had to re-build our stairs so that also occurred over the week. It’s a long story but they had built them differently than Chris and Rachel’s (we preferred theirs) and technically it didn’t work for code at the top. They’re re-built now though. And it’s weird to envision now, but they eventually wrap to the wall on the left so they won’t be so blunt once they’re fully finished.
They also built all of the overhangs over doors and a few of the windows.
By Friday, they had started wrapping the house with Tyvek! I hope this means they’ll wrap that up this week and we may even see some windows get installed!
We’ve also been working with the appliance company to make some selects and I got the picture book from the tile and flooring company. I made these fun AI renderings (using this tutorial) of our mud room/side entrance/carriage house entrance to play with lighting. Clearly nothing is to scale and these wouldn’t be hung so low but it was fun to see different looks for the space. Gotta love the random removal and addition of windows 😉 I used this chandelier and this chandlier in the mock-up for those interested. The wall color is SW Alabaster and the door color is SW Niebla Azul.

Around Town & For Fun
Kurtis was in Omaha Monday through Friday last week, which went by surprisingly fast this time around.
I wrapped up my third week of Faster Way to Fat Loss, and have stuck with the daily workouts, macro tracking and intermittenant fasting. So a couple times during the week, I hopped in the golf cart and treated myself to an afternoon coffee. It’s always such a beautiful drive!
Monday night I also took Chris and Rachel on a golf cart ride. We checked out a few new builds and then drove by a new restaurant, Scout, to see if we could find out when it’s opening. The GM was there and he let us walk around and gave us some info. We’re all really excited it will be opening for the holiday weekend! It has such a cool vibe!
Wednesday night I hosted a girls’ night and we celebrated our friend Ashley’s birthday.
Girlie loves her sugar, so I got her one of the exploding sprinkle cakes at Publix. She loved it!
Not only did we celebrate Ashley, but our newest little bestie, Kennedy, had her first girls’ night out at one week old! She only made it an hour or so but we were all so excited to meet her!
While Kurtis was on his trip to Omaha, not only did he get to have dinner with his sister and brother-in-law, he got to hang out with our Omaha bestie Jill…in the Atlanta airport! She was also traveling for work and in our group text quickly realized they had a layover during the same time! I was jealous.
Kurtis got home late Friday afternoon, so he wanted to chill at home most of the weekend. But we did head down to Alys Beach on Sunday for lunch at George’s and it was so enjoyable!
I love a good patio meal and their food is always so good and fresh! Kurtis had the catch of the day (grouper) with a spicy watermelon and feta salad. I had the sesame crab and avocado salad. Yum!
Whenever we drive home on 30A, it still feels a bit surreal that we live here! The quick drive always makes me so happy – especially when the sun is shining!
We ended the weekend with pizza and bocce league! My team had a good game but we sadly entered the losers bracket so I only played one round. I put my Cliganic mosquito bracelets on Kurtis while I was inside getting an AC break. They seemed to be working because we were the few people that weren’t getting bit by one pest or another!
I anticipate we’ll have a busy house-related week since we’re both in town. We are then both gone the following two weeks, one for Vegas and then I’m home a day before I leave to the LTK conference. My conference overlaps with one of Kurtis’, so mid-September is going to be here in a hurry! Which I just realized means I’ll be closer to 50 than 40 at that point. WHAT?! It should be a fun few weeks though!

We are building a casita and I just painted the interior doors and baseboards SW Niebla Azul! With white walls. In case you’re wondering…it turned out so fabulous! I’m so excited for the look! It’s a small space so it was fun to go a little more unique in my color selection. The entire casita/pool room is coastal style…(in our AZ desert home).
That sounds amazing! We have Niebla Azul on the outside of our front door but I always know it looks different in interiors. So glad to hear you are loving it because I’m really thinking we’re going to go that direction with our interior doors too!
