Weekend Recap

Weekend Update

Good morning! I hope you’ve all had a nice few weeks and a beautiful Easter weekend! Here’s what we’ve been up to the last couple of weeks.

This post contains affiliate links for your shopping convenience. You can read my full disclosure policy here.

Home Projects & Updates

Kurtis and I finally visited a local nursery, Clay 30A, and finalized a few pots, some citrus trees (kumquats!), and a few other plants. The pots and trees will be delivered later this week and I realized I totally forgot to take pictures of them! So I’ll share those once they arrive. But we also bought a little lime bush (Kurtis’ request) and some cilantro and basil plants to get our herb garden going for the season. I can’t tell you how excited I am that we can finally plant here (about six weeks earlier than we could in Omaha), so I’ve had a one-track mind lately!

Now that it’s planting season, I’m ready to just move right on to summer decor. Ha! But I’m really trying to appreciate the more calming palette of spring and enjoy the seasons as they come. This pillow combo is one of my favorites from our spring home tour.

Around Town & For Fun

The weather has been a bit volatile late winter and early spring here. The temps for the most part have felt cooler so when we have a beautiful day, we’re really trying to take advantage of it. But hopefully we’re on the updside now! Breakfast at Raw & Juicy is always a fave and we hadn’t been down there for awhile. You can find their double scallop umbrellas here – always a fave!

Kurtis was in Scottsdale for several days last week so one night I had dinner with some of my golfing friends. I hadn’t seen most of them since the fall, so it was fun to catch up! They’re such a fun (and funny) group of ladies and we always have such an enjoyable time together. Now we just need to golf more frequently!

We tried to make the Easter weekend bonfire at our beach club Friday night. 30A is crazy right now with a combo of spring break and Easter weekend visitors. Our dinner took so long, they were wrapping up the bonfire by the time we made it down to the beach. At least it was a beautiful night!

One day Kurtis and I headed down to the Seagrove Beach area to try a new-to-us restaurant for lunch and to head to the nursery for some planters and plants. Per above, we found some great things at Clay 30A and I’m excited for the rest of them to arrive this week!

The first stop in Seagrove Beach was Local Cantina for tacos. It was such a fun atmosphere and the food was great! The folks that worked there were a lot of fun too. It’s super close to Hola Beaches, too!

We also swung into Linen & Sand. They always have the cutest home decor items! I’m obsessed with these ombre glasses everytime I see them.

Lastly we stopped into The Salty Butcher for the first time and picked up some steaks, heirloom carrots and cheese for dinner that night. It was all so good!

We tried out some new trails on our Saturday morning bike ride! We just love how beautiful our neighborhood and surrounding trails are!

One of my recent outfits this week. I love this cardigan sweater this time of year because it’s easy to later with other tops when needed.

Sunday morning, we decided to go to the sunrise service on the beach at our beach club. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful morning!

We came home for a few hours before we headed back down for our Easter brunch reservation. We really enjoyed the food and our time with everyone!

Kurtis gets asked about his Floafers all the time. If your man loves Crocs but you would prefer something dressier, these are a great compromise! They’re basically foam loafers. They look great in person too and come in several colors.

I saw this MOKE which was a much more chic version of the one we drove in Anguilla! It made me want to go back (and to buy a MOKE)!

We ended the weekend out on our freshly cleaned patio. Since Bailey passed away, the other two haven’t seemed to have much interest in coming out on their catio. But they were all in yesterday and sat out here even longer than we did! Maybe they’re true Floridians now too and were waiting for some warmer temps 😉

It’s hard to believe that April is already here! We’re excited that this area seems to be out of the weird weather pattern we had been stuck in. We’ll be home the next few weeks until we leave on Kurtis’ company trip at the end of the month. It also falls over his birthday so should be a fun time! But I’m really looking forward to us both being home, a regular routine, and cranking out some projects over the next few weeks before we leave.

Love your content! Could you put together a 30A list of shops and restaurants that you love? I am visiting Destin for the first time in June, and your expertise would be appreciated!
