Happy Monday! Was the time change as hard for you as it was for me this morning? I don’t know if it was the combination of the time change and us switching time zones a few times last week or what. But man, I am dragging today! Here’s a bit of what we’ve been up to these past few weeks!

Home Projects & Updates
We were traveling most of last week and came home to see the new build had been shingled and most of the siding has been wrapped up!
You can see they still have a few spots to finish on the other side, but I imagine once that’s done, they’ll be painting the exterior! We’re going with Sherwin Williams Greek Villa for all of it.
Kurtis tested his view from his new office, and was pretty excited to see that he’ll have a full view of the cabana and pool. This will be his first ever dedicated home office, since he’s always shared with a guest bedroom in the past. Now that he’s 100% work-from-home (outside of some travel here and there), he’ll really enjoy the dedicated space!
Now that we’re back from our travels, I anticipate I’ll be receiving a few calls this week to finalize countertops, lighting, etc. It’s hard to believe the house could be ready for us to move in within the next four months! But, that means I’ll have lots of design plans coming your way soon!

Around Town & For Fun
We were in Grand Cayman Sunday through Friday last week, so I skipped last week’s Weekend Recap.
I’ve been continuing my golf classes with this group of lovely ladies each week. It’s been a lot of fun, but I can’t believe we only have two weeks left!
On the way to pick up my friend for class (and to drop Kurtis off for his workout), we saw a turtle in the road. We both got nervous leaving him there, so Kurtis picked him up and we drove him to the pond around the corner and across the street. Let’s just say I didn’t realize how stinky turtles were. Ha!
These two cuties “helped” us pack before our trip. You can definitely tell Henley gets a little anxious when the suitcases come out. But we received daily texts and photos from their cute sitter while we were away! Having her stay at the house definitely seemed to help them overall while we were away, as well. You can see more of what I packed in this post.
Sunday we flew to Grand Cayman for Kurtis’ incentive trip for work. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Grand Cayman, and I enjoyed checking out the decor all over the property. It was like a combo of tropical, mid-century modern, Florida Keys style if that combination makes any sense.
Our first night, the group enjoyed dinner on the beach. It was so great to see everyone after a nearly three year break!
We have the option to sign up for activities every day, but Kurtis and I limited it to two adventures. We tend to love pool/beach time without a real agenda the other days. One day we signed up for a jet ski/snorkel tour and it was a lot of fun! Our guides found a few live conches on the bottom they were able to show us.
Another day, we signed up for a Jeep tour of the island. They essentially turned over the keys to a Jeep and we could explore on our own. We had only ever been to the island as a stop on a cruise, so this was a great way to really explore. It was a bit challenging since this is a British island and they drive on the other side of the road (but our steering wheels were on the “American” side). We joined forces with a few friends and basically drove around the entire island! One highlight was Starfish Point. You can actually hold the starfish as long as you keep them submerged in the water!
Another highlight from the day was Rum Point. It was a beautiful stop after a long drive. We grabbed some food and drinks and just enjoyed the beautiful weather for a bit!
Our last evening, we could sign up for a catamaran sunset cruise, so we were on board for that!
We departed Friday afternoon, and the water still blows me away! One of the main reasons we love the 30A area in Florida so much is that it’s the closest we’ve ever found in the US to the water colors of the Caribbean that we love so much! We absolutely loved our stay and the people on the island (so friendly and helpful)!
Saturday morning, we went to Raw & Juicy for breakfast. I had a bit of a “squirrel” moment while talking to Kurtis when I realized the jasmine was blooming! Ha! The spring break crowds have started to descend upon the area, so we know we’ll likely be sticking closer to home over the coming weeks so it was fun to get out for a bit. It’s definitely an easier transition coming home from a tropical vacation now that we don’t have to return to snow!
The cats were pretty clingy all weekend, making sure we weren’t leaving again. Hawkeye really doesn’t understand personal space 😉
Saturday afternoon, I had signed up for an abstract art class with Susie Bettenhausen at Blue Magnolia (where I recently took the charcuterie class). This time I went with my friends Marissa and Ashley and we had such a great time! Don’t all of these colors on the canvases make you so happy?!
This was my abstract art while in progress. It was almost dark by the time we left, so I didn’t get a final picture, but I’ll be sure to take one this week. I definitely could use some more practice 😉
I had golf on Sunday, and Kurtis came home with a cold, so we had a pretty low-key remainder of the weekend. The weather is supposed to be cooler here this week, so I’m hoping that means I’ll crank out some computer work inside! I’m also hoping to start working on some planters in the coming weeks. These pots are every bit as great as I hoped they’d be!
