These Christmas decorating ideas for 2019 include design boards for various rooms around your home, source lists, and lots of holiday decor inspiration!

Happy November 1st! The day it’s “officially” okay to talk about Thanksgiving and Christmas – at least in my mind. But, if you’ve read here for any amount of time, you know I’ve been planning both holidays for a month or two now. They’re basically the only reason cold weather exists in my book. Come January 2nd, I’m ready for summer. I won’t be in full-force holiday mode for a few weeks yet (I think), but I also know that every year, a lot of the best holiday decor sells out by mid-November. So today I’m sharing my Christmas decorating ideas for 2019, including my mood boards for various rooms in our home!

Every other year, I seem to rotate between traditional red and green decor and then a more natural take for Christmas. Since last year was all the red and all the plaid (you can see it in action in our 2018 Christmas home tour part I and part II), this year I am taking a much more natural approaching. And I couldn’t be more excited about it!

Although these design boards are a lot of work, I have so much fun making them! I hope you can find a bit of inspiration while looking through them! And if you’re wanting even more inspiration (especially if you’re more into traditional holiday colors), be sure to check out my Christmas design boards from last year. Many of the items are still available!

Following are our 2019 Christmas decorating plans! Some of the items in the mood boards are representative of items we may already have on hand. But they’re representative of the overall look and vibe I’m hoping to achieve! I’m sure I’ll still make a few tweaks along the way, but these boards help me when I pull out all the tubs of decor and don’t know where to start!

Entryway Christmas Decorating Ideas

I’m excited for this neutral holiday look in our entryway this year! One of the things I’m most excited about are the outdoor LED birch trees that I bought for the planters in our courtyard! Since you see this outdoor space as soon as you walk in the door, I think it will be fun to have the trees glowing from just outside the windows!

Entryway Christmas decorating ideas for 2019. I love this neutral take on Christmas decor with blush and ivory mixed with natural greenery.

ENTRYWAY MOOD BOARD SOURCES: Garland (similar here) | Satin Ribbon | Pom & Tassel Rug | Lantern Pendant Chandelier | Bench | Pom Pom Pillow (look for less here) | Fringe Pillow | Striped Wood Cabinet | White Scallop Mirror | Wreath | Mini Lit Tree | Outdoor LED Birch Trees | Black Resin Planters | ‘O Holy Night’ Canvas | Door Color: Benjamin Moore Water’s Edge

Living Room Christmas Decorating Ideas

Last year, I ended up donating several of our old Christmas trees. We used flocked trees the past few years, but this year I wanted to go back to a natural look in the living room. A week or two back, I ended up buying this Christmas tree. I set it up earlier this week, and you may have seen it on my Instagram Stories. I really love the look! It’s more of a petite tree since we don’t have a ton of space in our living room. I wanted it to have a slight “Charlie Brown” feel and I love it looks! Super happy with the purchase. I haven’t even adjusted the branches yet and it still looks great!

Everything else in our living room will be neutral and plaid. These plaid pillows may actually be considered fall decor, but I am excited to use them for the holidays! And we already have our stockings, but if we didn’t, these stockings would be top on my list this year!

Living room Christmas decorating ideas for 2019. Love this simple, neutral plaid look for the holidays. Filled with a natural looking Christmas tree, woven basket tree collar, and chunky knit stockings.

Kitchen Christmas Decorating Ideas

I don’t love over-decorating our kitchen so I’ll just be adding simple, festive touches here and there. I ordered this diamond runner rug for the space because I love the softness and quality of their indoor/outdoor line. Perfect for kitchens! I’ll also be hanging some wreaths in the kitchen window. And to add the most festive part of all, I love burning this candle (my obsession at Christmas time for years)!

Simple Christmas decorating ideas for your kitchen! Love the ideas of the wreath in the window and silver lanterns filled with faux snow.

KITCHEN MOOD BOARD SOURCES: Counter Stools | Basket Pendant Lights  | Runner Rug | Vase | Faux Cypress Branch | Lanterns | Striped Marble Tray | Wood Cookbook Holder (similar here) | Sunday Suppers Cookbook | Frasier Fir Candle | Wreath | Garland (similar here) | Island Paint Color: Benjamin Moore Providence Blue

Dining Room Christmas Decorating Ideas

I actually started this mood board back when I actually thought I may be ordering these cane chairs to also go in our dining room. Since they still haven’t gone on sale, there’s been zero chance of that happening. But they looks so cute on the board I left them for now! Fingers crossed for a Black Friday deal!

I’m still on the fence if I’ll be adding a Christmas tree in our dining room this year. It really all comes down to timing and if I want a tree in there when we host Thanksgiving. If we don’t put one up, it will be the first time in four years we won’t have one which makes me a bit sad. If I do, I’ll go the natural Christmas tree route, since this room adjoins our living room. And I saw these antique gold candlesticks in person yesterday and they’re so beautiful! I’m hoping they go on sale soon so I can snag them!

Dining room Christmas decorating ideas. Pretty, natural colors with a striped rug, and silver chandelier.

Den Christmas Decorating Ideas

Since our den officially became a room just this year, it has been one of my favorite spaces to decorate seasonally! I moved my original flocked Christmas tree in the space for some of the Hi Sugarplum photos and I think it looks perfect there. The only color I’m really bringing into the space is these dark green windowpane plaid pillows (they’re finally back in stock)! Not only are they affordable (and come in four colors) but I love that they have a zipper so I can add my own inserts!

Den Christmas decorating ideas for 2019. I love the Silent Night canvas art mixed with the neutral decor and flocked Christmas tree.

DEN MOOD BOARD SOURCES: Linen Sectional | Rug | Coffee Table | Scallop Light Fixture | Braided Jute Poufs | Ceramic Vase | Faux Cypress Branch | Tripod Floor Lamp | TV Stand | Flocked Christmas Tree | Woven Tree Collar | Pom Pom Pillow (look for less here) | Windowpane Plaid Pillow | Starburst Pillow | Fringe Pillow | Moravian Star Tree Topper | ‘Silent Night’ Canvas | Olive Wreath

Master Bedroom Christmas Decorating Ideas

In an ideal world and design plans, we’d have a Christmas tree in our bedroom. I’m not sure it will actually end up working out, but plans are made to achieve them 😉 Also, I keep putting this rug in my master bedroom design boards because I am hoping to swap ours one day, but currently it’s not a top priority. Our dresser is scheduled to be delivered Wednesday and I can’t even explain how excited I am to get rid of the super dark one we currently have!

MASTER BEDROOM MOOD BOARD SOURCES: Bed | Cane Nightstands | Wood Bead Chandelier | White Jute Rug | Lamps (look for less here) | Frames | Curtains | Curtain Rod | Buffalo Check Duvet Cover | Buffalo Check Euro Shams | Bench | Dresser | Mirror | Flocked Christmas Tree | White Rope Tree Collar | Olive Wreath | Mini Lit Tree

Guest Bedroom Christmas Decorating Ideas

Our main guest bedroom will be seeing a lot of visitors these next few months! And the best part about our holiday guest space? Our bed new bed will be here in time for both Thanksgiving and Christmas! I couldn’t be more excited. Since I just did a guest bedroom refresh recently, I won’t be changing much in this room but will swap out the artwork and add some festive greenery for the holidays!

GUEST BEDROOM MOOD BOARD SOURCES: Upholstered Bed | Bead Chandelier | Striped Rug | Plaid Linen Duvet Cover | Plaid Shams | Quilt | White Banded Sheets | Plaid Lumbar Pillow | Nightstands | Pair of Ceramic Lamps | Bench | X-Base Stools | ‘O Come Let Us Adore Him’ Canvas | Mirror | Olive Wreath

Home Office Christmas Decorating Ideas

Our office is the only room we decorate that faces the street. So, it’s where I put our ‘big’ tree in the front window. The truth is, post years, I let the tree be the focus since there isn’t much space for more decor (since we use the office daily). But the simply touches make for one of my favorite holiday rooms in our home! Especially whenever we drive home and see the tree glowing in the window! I’ll be keeping the ornaments pretty simple in various metallic shades. But, I may just have to add in my DIY marble paint ornaments again because I love them so much!

OFFICE DESIGN BOARD SOURCES: White Bead Chandelier | White Jute Border Rug | Desk | Desk Chair | Lamps | Striped Drapes | Flocked Christmas Tree | White Rope Tree Collar | Gold Starburst Ornaments | Raffia Bookcase

I just added it to my highlights so you should be able to watch it again. If you go to my Instagram profile it will be the one of the circles under my bio. I hope that helps!
