One of my favorite home tours of the entire year is finally here! Today I’ve teamed up with a group of bloggers, hosted by Marty from A Stroll Thru Life, to share the first set of rooms on my Christmas home tour! And if you’re stopping from Southern Hospitality, welcome! Then, I’ll be back on Wednesday to share even more spaces in our home dressed up for the holidays. See Part II of my plaid Christmas home tour here.
And, in case you missed it, I’m also part of a blog hop cookie swap today, where I’m sharing a delicious no bake cookie recipe! On to the tour! You’ll note at the photos for each room, I’ve included all sources not already mentioned in a scrolling widget that you can click for more info!

I kept our entryway fairly simple this year. I fully intended to add garland to the staircase so maybe that will happen in the coming days. The entryway and my office are the only rooms in our Christmas home that don’t have any red! I’m not even a “red” person, and love my blues and neutrals, but it’s so fun to use during the holidays! But the common denominator in all of our rooms this year is plaid. I’m obsessed!
You can see a peek of my blue and white Christmas tree and currently it’s the only decor I’ve added to the office. But that may change soon too!
As we move down the hallway, we enter the kitchen and living room area.
I kept our living room fairly simple too, adding in some garland, lights, plaid pillows and a few other festive touches. I also recently found this wood chain that is nearly identical to ours! We love it!
I’m loving our new fireplace so much that I actually created two separate mantlescapes this year! I’ll be sharing the other one on Thursday, but here’s the more natural, cozy look! These chunky knit stockings are stunning and I love the cute wood button detail on the back. I used a simple rope and star garland I got from Target last year to tie the two together. And side note: you may notice our Frame TV is up and working! Sadly, the day I took these pics it was nearly dark outside from storms, so it’s glowing more than it does in real life. I’m excited for you to see the other mantle Thursday to show you how it typically looks!
I haven’t swapped out the black and white Italy photos from fall yet, so at this point, they may just stay here a while longer. That’s the beauty of simple black and white photos! I love just how versatile our dough bowl is regardless of season! It looks so cute filled with faux greenery and ornaments for Christmas.
As you turn away from the living room, you can see our Christmas kitchen!
I can’t get enough of the little wreaths (larger version available here) on the cabinets and the larger wreaths on the windows! I’m also loving the bold black and white plaid rug!
My little buddy Bearcat was being so cute and unintentionally modeling on Saturday when I was shooting photos. Yesterday we had to take him to the hospital because he wasn’t doing well at all. He stayed overnight so we’re hoping he feels better soon and we can bring him home today! It just isn’t the same around here without him!
I like to keep our countertops fairly uncluttered, but I’ve designated this little area as my decor spot. I filled this large gold bowl with an assortment of red ornaments and this gold vase with faux juniper stems.
I’ve had this Joy napkin/towel for a few years and the exact one isn’t available, but the same shop offers this cute option that’s very close! This small laminated birch tray has served us well since the kitchen renovation and holds our hand soap (this one smells heavenly) along with seasonal candle(s) and my wick trimmer.
Peeking into the pantry, I added a few fun touches as well. This pantry was one of the best updates we made to our kitchen this summer!
As much as I love blues, this black plaid runner is another favorite this season and it pairs so well with the reds and greens of the season. I’m especially loving this view from the kitchen looking into the dining room. Why can’t Christmas trees be a year round thing?!
Moving into the dining room, I changed things up from last year by adding in some bold reds! But the real star is this It Is Well canvas from Lindsay Letters! It typically hangs in our staircase, but I’m loving it here for Christmas!
The addition of the garland and ornaments to our chandelier is one of my favorite update! So easy to do, but makes for a fun alternative to a traditional centerpiece!
Looking back toward the kitchen, you can see how the spaces all flow together!
I shared even more photos of this space in my recent red plaid tablescape post if you want more details!
I haven’t decorated our powder bath with seasonal decor in quite some time, and it was fun to add a simple boxwood wreath with a command strip and ribbon to the mirror. The whole room immediately feels more festive and suddenly the star sconces look like they were added just for the holidays!
I hope you enjoyed this first installment of our Christmas home tour! I’ll be sharing new Christmas spaces on Wednesday and there are so many fun ones to share!
