Use these quick and inexpensive fall room decor ideas to make simple but impactful changes to your home for the season! Many of these ideas will also transition well for the holidays!

Quick and inexpensive fall decorating ideas are great for bringing the autumn spirit to your home without having to spend a lot of money or time graphic.

Happy Halloween! I know many of us are getting ready to switch gears towards the holidays tomorrow (I’m even planning to share my Christmas design boards). However, since we’re hosting Thanksgiving this year, I’m still 50% focused on fall for the next month! Today I thought I’d share some inexpensive fall home decorating ideas you can easily implement over the next month if you’re not ready to move on to the holidays yet! Next week, I’m also hoping to share my Thanksgiving tablescape inspiration as well!

Quick & Inexpensive Fall Decorating Ideas

The ideas I’m sharing today are meant to be quick, easy and affordable updates you can make this next month. If you haven’t decorated yet, using even one of these simple tips will help add some fall vibes to your home! I’ve included a list of more extensive fall decor and inspiration at the end of this post if you’re looking for even more ideas!

Dress Up Your Main Bathroom for Fall

I rarely decorate our powder bathroom. But the reality is, it’s one of the rooms both visitors and we see on a regular basis! I found some old Home Goods olive topiaries in the basement and placed them on the counter. I then add this new affordable grid bathmat to the floor and love the rich camel color paired with the rich navy blue cabinets. Voila! Install fall bathroom decor vibes without much effort. Another easy update is to switch to a fall-scented hand wash! Side note: this is by far the most difficult room in our home to photograph which is why you don’t see it that frequently 😉

POWDER BATH SOURCES: Grid Bath Mat | Similar Olive Topiaries | Hand Towel | Star Sconce Lights | Hand Soap | Faucet | Similar Mirror | Cabinet paint color: Benjamin Moore Hale Navy

Fill a Bowl Or Tray With Pumpkins

I shared this idea last year when I decorated our dining room in non-traditional fall colors. These types of centerpieces are easy to assemble and add a DIY fall vibe without going overboard! It’s also nice when everything is contained and easy to move! You could use fresh mini pumpkins from the grocery store or even faux ones like these I found at JOANN last year! I like going faux with these types of things though because of the cats, but also because I only have to invest one time!

DINING ROOM SOURCES: Dough Bowl (smaller option available here) | Linen Chairs | Dining Table | Hutch | Velvet Navy Blue Pumpkins | Cream Felt Pumpkins | Faux Lamb’s Ear | Tea Dried Leaf Spray | Gray Green Leaf Spray

Switch Up the Throw Pillows in Your Main Living Area

Throw pillows are an easy way to change the entire vibe in your living space. This time of year, many fall throw pillows are marked down to make room for holiday inventory! Better yet, find some cozy fall options that will work well now and will then transition into the holidays and winter. I know many of you loved the pom pillow in our living room but the price was out of your budget. I’ve been searching high and low and final found this option and this option at much more affordable price points!

White, blue and white and dark cream throw pillows on the white couch.

LIVING ROOM SOURCES: Plaid Tassel Throw | Striped Fringe Pillow | Embroidered Starburst Pillow | Pom Pom Pillow | Linen Pillow | Sofa | Woven Baskets | Faux Olive Tree

I also seem to find a lot of affordable throw pillow options here. The best part is, many of their gorgeous pillows include down inserts! Which makes them an even better steal!

Swap Out Your Everyday Art/Photos for Something Seasonal

You can do this in a big way by swapping out oversized artwork in your home for something of a similar scale. We replaced our palm tree art with this blue pumpkin canvas for fall. I really didn’t have to change much else in the space to completely switch seasons in here!

A white Pottery Barn sectional couch with a small coffee table in the TV room.

DEN SOURCES: Linen Sectional | Coffee Table | Diamond Jute Rug | Blue Pumpkin Art | Jute Poufs | Roman Shades | Scallop Light | Vase | Faux Eucalyptus | Linen Pillows (color: Gunmetal) | Striped Tassel Pillow | Plaid Pillow (old from HomeGoods) – similar here and here | Chunky Tassel Throw

You can also do this in a much smaller fashion by swapping out the photos in frames around your home. In our living room gallery wall, I replaced our vibrant beach photos with black and white photos of Italy that remind me of fall! It’s an under $10 update when I have them printed at Target!

Love this idea of printing vacation photos in black and white to use in your fall decor!

LIVING ROOM SOURCES: Linen Sofa | White Spindle Chair | Bronze Linen Pillow | Striped Pillow | Lamps | Wood Dough Bowl | Gallery Wall Frames (look for less here) | Faux Olive Stems

I have a whole post dedicated to simple and affordable artwork ideas for even more options if you’re interested! You could also print off some of these free fall printables to use as art around your home!

Add Fall Foliage to Your Decor

One of the easiest inexpensive DIY fall decor ideas you can use is to add some fall foliage to your spaces. This can come in the form of exquisite faux botanicals and stems or by simply cutting some leaves and branches from outside! Thanks to the cats, I usually go faux, but it’s a fun way to add some seasonal color and texture to your spaces!

KITCHEN SOURCES: Basket Pendant Lights | Bistro Counter Stools | Striped Runner Rug c/o from Brooke & Lou | Large Vase | Faux Aspen Stems | Topiaries | Cabinet Hardware: Knobs and Bin Pulls

Burn a Fall Candle

Don’t want to mess with any of the above ideas now that we’re already almost into November? Burn a fall candle for an instant mood booster! In case you missed it, I shared our favorite fall candles recently with detailed descriptions on each!

I follow your blog and love your coastal room designs, especially since I have a home in a beach community. However, I honestly can’t justify spending $300 for a throw and $200 for a pillow cover. Thank goodness for Home Goods, Marshalls and TJ Maxx!

Thank you so much! And I totally get that. That’s why I try to do look for less options when I find them to accommodate a wider range of budgets. And HomeGoods has so many great options!
