What I Packed for Hawaii

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been sharing a lot of resort wear – one of my favorite looks to shop for! Many of the items I ordered for our recent trip to the Big Island of Hawaii came from my resort wear picks and my Amazon spring and resort wear finds posts! But today I wanted to share what the items I wore looked like on, and give some fit tips along the way.

This post contains affiliate links for your shopping convenience. You can read my full disclosure policy here.

If you want to see some of the clothing I packed in action, you can watch this video I recently shared!

While I didn’t get a photo of me in every single thing I wore on the trip, I did remember to at least get pictures of each of my dinner outfits!

On both ends of the trip, travel-wise, I wore my go-to Varley, this time around in this top and these pants (use code SPRINGFORWARD26 for 10% off). And if you’re looking for a gorgeous travel shoe, these loafers are gorgeous! I notice their Friends & Family Sale started yesterday and runs through tomorrow with 25% off with code FF2026. I found them to run a smidge small, so I’d order up half a size (but they are intended to stretch a bit over time).

This palm print toile dress was shorter than I’d normally wear (I’m 5’9″ plus have a very long torso) but I wore it the first night before the work portion officially started. I’m in the XL. I received many compliments on it at our pre-dinner drinks and am totally that person that had to say “it’s from Target!” This cane style purse was the one I probably reached for most frequently this trip. At $30, I wasn’t worried about it getting damaged or worn, and it coordinated well with most of my outfits! You’ll also see I wore these raffia style wedges nearly every night – so comfy even with a lot of walking around our large resort!

It was such a beautiful sunset that evening!

The first “official” evening of the work trip was the welcome party. It was outdoors and decorated so beautifully! The weather (and food) were phenomenal!

I wore this dress, which was one of my favorites I packed for the trip. The jersey material makes for very few wrinkles from packing and the fit is very flattering. I’m in the XL which had a loose fit on me, but the length was great!

The first official morning, we always have a business meeting. I had bought this dress (in yellow, on clearance during the sample sale) to wear. Last minute, they changed the agenda and said there would also be activities involved after the business portion. They encouraged athletic shoes and clothes for competing. Lovely 😉 I wore this old Sezane blouse (similar here) with these shorts. I had bought the top for the river cruise we did last year for my mom’s 70th. Funny enough, one of my friends showed up in the exact same top!

This pink floral eyelet dress felt perfect for the evening we had a hulu dinner! I also brought along the white version (I got both during their recent sample sale) and think it will be perfect for Easter since I didn’t get a chance to wear that one. I got XL in both of these since there is zero stretch, and I usually need the extra length in Tuckernuck dresses. These weatherproof bracelets are a staple all summer long for me. They’re a splurge but virtually indestructible

Kurtis was “randomly” selected to learn hula on stage, as his peer sat next to me giggling the whole time that he hand-selected who was chosen 😉 This is just a screenshot of the video I took, but figured it needed to be shared!

My personal favorite find for this trip was this dress. It felt unique and I loved the color! It was a splurge but I felt incredibly comfortable in it and that was worth the price tag! I ordered both the Large and XL, and although the Large fit great, like most Tuckernuck dresses, it felt too short, so I kept the XL. That extra inch makes all the difference, especially for a “work” party!

The following evening we had dinner along the water with two of Kurtis’ co-workers and their spouses. It was such a fun evening! It was pretty humid that day and I knew we’d be by the water, so I went with a little braid in the front to keep my hair out of my face (and to hide the frizz)! I think this dress was one of the only items in my suitcase I didn’t have to iron! The jersey knit is great for packing and very flattering on. I’m wearing an XL.

Our last night was the only dinner we had on our own! I wore another Tuckernuck sample sale dress – this cute sleeveless eyelet dress! It runs big – I wore the large and had plenty of room.

And, while I didn’t photograph every single thing I packed and wore on this trip, I did save them all below! Tap any of the images below for more info on each of the items shown.
