Good morning! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Here’s a bit of what we’ve been up to over the past week or so.

Home Projects & Updates
With eight visitors in town all week, I didn’t tackle many projects around the house (but sure did have a lot of fun)!
My additional curtain rings should arrive this week so we can finish up the drapes we installed in our bedroom last weekend. One thing I’ve immediately noticed (and love so much) is how the drapes really make you notice our beaded chandelier now! It kind of got lost in all the white before, but the drapes draw your eye up now and it makes such a statement!

Over the past year or so, I’ve gotten really bad at only working at my desk. Sometimes I sit there for 8-12 hours a day, and it’s not good! After cleaning up our back porch area last weekend, I made a conscious effort to take some of my work outside. It was so enjoyable so I’m writing it down to remind myself to do this more often!

Once we wrap up some travel at the end of this month, I told Kurtis I want to work our landscaping a bit. The builder provided landscaping for us when we moved in, but we didn’t have any say on what was selected. Last year I focused on some planters, but this year, I’d love to focus on a few of the plants around the yard. I’m excited to get started on that soon!
Today we have a crew coming to do some demo in our laundry room to repair our dryer vent. It will be easier to share in pictures next week, but something that’s been a pain point for awhile. As in – we haven’t been able to dry a load of laundry in under 4-6 hours the past few months. Thankfully our builder is handling it all and I only have to deal with the mess afterwards 😉
In Case You Missed It
Following are the posts I shared over the past week, in case you missed some days!
Around Town & For Fun
As I mentioned last week, my parents and their friends arrived in town last weekend. Tuesday afternoon we took them to the beach for a few hours in the sun and then sunset. The weather was absolutely gorgeous while they were here, but the mornings had some pretty dense fog.
Such a great picture of these fun and wonderful people! Love them all!
We also grabbed one with me and Kurtis and my parents. Beach hair, don’t care 😉 I’m wearing this sweater and my mom is wearing this sweater again in the other colorway!
While the crew was in town they were very busy! Several hours a morning playing pickleball, bike riding, walks, donut runs. They did it all! They also spent a lot of time at the beach and enjoyed the beautiful week we had on 30A. My godmother Nancy captured this beautiful shot one morning while on one of her walks.
I tried to make use of the beautiful weather and took a bike ride and a walk with Kurtis this week. I really don’t enjoy physical activity but I know I need to step it up, so it helped when the weather was so beautiful to get outside! Our neighborhood has so many beautiful trails, paths and streets it’s crazy not to take advantage of them. We also hopped on the golf cart a few times this week, which was such a fun thing to get back to. When it’s cooler out, the golf cart isn’t as enjoyable so we hadn’t gone out much the past few months.
Wednesday morning, I invited the visiting ladies and several of my friends to a tote painting class at Studio Gallery 30A. My friends and I have taken several classes here and it’s always so much fun – this time was no exception!
The studio is darling and a must-visit if you’re on 30A. They’ll be offering art classes this spring and summer throughout various weeks and I highly recommend them!
The ladies hard at work on their creations.
Here was my finished bag! Everyone’s turned out so cute. We could follow Susie’s example or do any
Rachel and I ordered this sweater when we were on our catamaran trip, and when I found out my mom also bought it and packed it for her trip to 30A, I decided we all needed to wear them to art class. Ha! My mom is 5’5″ and in the small, I’m 5’9″ and in the large, and Rachel is 5’11” and in the extra-small. It fits true to size and comes in a few color options!
I wore it with these cute Walmart shoes I found recently. This exact style keeps going in and out of stock, but they are also available in black, denim and red. I love that they have the memory foam footbed like so many of their shoes! The Target pair in my bestsellers this week are very similar – this style is super popular for spring and both of these options are so much more affordable than other brands offering them!
The visiting crew invited us over to Hola Beaches Thursday night for dinner. It was such an enjoyable evening, and it reminded us once again why we fell in love with the house in the first place!
We had all six of the porch doors open and ten of us around the dining table and it was so much fun.
Sunday morning, Kurtis and I picked up the Bronco at Hola Beaches (my parents had borrowed it for the week) and then headed to Raw & Juicy for breakfast. It was another foggy morning, but still so beautiful and fun to get back to one of our favorite breakfast spots! Looks like the jasmine should be blooming soon at my favorite little pink house across the street!
We ended the weekend with an unplanned Superbowl party. When you find out Amici, one of our favorite local spots for pizza, was offering $10 takeout pizzas, you load up and enjoy the game. Or in Kurtis’ case (as a lifelong Chiefs fan) don’t enjoy the game, but enjoy the company 😉
We now have two slower weeks at home before our spring chaos arrives with Kurtis’ company trip, several visitors around spring break, Kurtis traveling for work, and then my mom’s 70th birthday trip to Europe – all before the end of April!

I hope you all have a great week!
If you would like to follow along on more of my home decor, DIY, lifestyle, travel and other posts, I’d love to have you join me on any of the below channels:
love your drapes! What width did you use to get that amount of fullness?
Thank you so much! I did the 40″ width but did two panels in each section you can see here. I’ll share more later this week, but our windows aren’t centered, so I have one section that only has one panel so you’ll be able to see the difference in widths. They offer wider (I think 60″ would have been find) but we have 10′ ceilings plus the vault so I needed more than the 40″ (but the other sizes took a lot longer to ship so I improvised). I hope that helps!
Wow, what a busy fun week! Those pictures of you and your family on the beach at sunset are gorgeous. I think I need to find a painting class near me, those beach totes are so cute, what a great idea! Thanks for sharing, I always look forward to your posts and read every one…and have for years now!
Thank you so much Lynn! I appreciate it! And you definitely need to find a painting class. My mom takes one with her girlfriends in Utah, too, and they’re always so much fun!
Love the tote painting. Where did you get the tote from? So cute.
Thank you Pamela! The totes were provided by the class and I don’t see a label on them so don’t have any info. Sorry!
Can you add a link for the green balls on the coffee table on the porch?
Hi! I purchased them in Omaha several years back from Amethyst Home. I found these: https://rstyle.me/+H7vYVt6p-wg-A4irK2rQ3Q that are similar or you could try and source fresh hedge apples/osage oranges from your local grocery store!
