Good morning! I hope you all had a nice first weekend of February! Here is a bit of what we’ve been up to over the past week or so.

Home Projects & Updates
Now that February is here, we’re trying to wrap up a few little projects so I can move on to spring decorating!
I had been wanting to hang drapes in our bedroom basically since we moved in. We have the plantation shutters for functionality, but with the vaulted ceiling, I really felt the space needed some softness. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that I bought these drapes with these rods and these rings and we finally hung them on Saturday! I had stalled ordering anything because of the wall shown in the image below. The left side here is much smaller than the opposite side window, so I kind of had to fake that they were even as much as possible.
Henley and Hawkeye were sure to help. I found Henley asleep at one point with a paw inside one of the little curtain ring boxes.
The drapes look so beautiful and we are really happy with them! Ours are the 40×108″ panels (they come as a set of two in most sizes) in the Beige White. They only ended up being about $36 per panel, which for this length and pinch-pleat is pretty unheard of! In the image below, I have two panels in each section (I was too impatient to wait for the wider widths) and you really can’t tell it isn’t two panels! With our 10′ ceilings here, I just felt like one panel looked two skimpy for this height. Side note: these are also memory trained, and the way they ship them, I didn’t even have to steam or iron them!
I’ll share more details soon because I didn’t order enough curtain rings. So one panel on the far right (not seen above) only has half the rings and I wasn’t even able to hang the last one. But the two above are essentially how it will all look when finished. However, in looking at this pic, I think I need to slightly adjust the length on the right panel. The little clips you attach on the back of the panel make it super easy to just click it down a notch (the clips are shown in the paper above that Henley is on – next to the black ring).
Kurtis was in Dallas most of the week for work so I took the time to wash our sofa slipcovers. This particular material (the performance linen) isn’t supposed to be washed. But after Kurtis spilled an entire glass of red wine on one of them a few years back, it wasn’t really an option for us 😉 One of the cats had gotten sick on one of them so they needed to be washed again. It’s always a process, but they look so much better afterwards! It’s hard to believe we’re in our 7th year with these sofas and they still look so good! You can read my full review of them here.
Another fun little update that I plan to share a video of on my Instagram this week: I also ordered this 8′ citrus tree for the corner of our living room. After the holidays, it always feels so bare over here (and so white!), so I was looking for an affordable option to try. I’m really happy with this! The 8′ version is currently less expensive or the same price as several of the smaller sizes! I filmed a video because when the box arrives, you’ll definitely think “no way an 8′ tree is in there”. Ha! But this took me five minutes max to assemble and fluff. I still plan to play with it a bit more and need to find a basket that better fits it! I’m currently using the one that holds all of our sofa lumbar pillows.

Some of you may remember I had the 5′ version in a vase in our entryway in our first house we moved to in Florida! That one is currently in my office, so I knew I’d probably like the taller version!

In Case You Missed It
Following are the posts I shared over the past week, in case you missed some days!
Around Town & For Fun
On Monday, Rachel and I had an event in Seaside to promote the upcoming Seaside School Race Weekend!
We officially dubbed it a bar crawl because nearly every restaurant in Seaside hosted us for 30 minutes or so and gave us food and drinks. We had to take a breather at a few of the stops, but it was so much fun!
When Kurtis got back in town, we finished Yellowstone. We try to be really good about not starting a series until the final season is out. So our timing worked well watching this one from start to finish this winter!
Saturday night, Rachel and I met our friend Katie and her sister and girlfriends at Amigos for dinner. The girls were all visiting her from Omaha and she wanted us all to meet and it was such an enjoyable night! Funny enough, my parents flew in that afternoon to be here for the week with my mom’s roommates from nurses training and their husbands. They all decided to go to Amigos for dinner once they left the airport so we got to see them too! It’s the place to be! 😉
Sunday night, we hosted my parents and their friends for a pizza and hot tub party! They’re all staying down at Hola Beaches so Kurtis and I spent the afternoon cleaning up the outside furniture and getting it prepped for guests. Hawkeye got to escape to the back yard for a bit and he was in heaven!
It was nice to put the cushions back out and set up the umbrellas again. A lot of my plants in the planters that were doing fine all winter finally bit the dust in the snow storm. A few might come back but I’ll likely need to replace a few this spring!
We also hopped in the golf cart and cut some fresh saw palms. It was so beautiful outside it felt like spring is almost here in the panhandle! Can you believe we just had snow last week?! Don’t mind the wrinkled rug – I fixed it after this pic and then forgot to take a new one. Ha!

It was a beautiful evening and a lot of fun catching up with everyone!
We’re looking forward to spending more time with this crew while they’re here this week! I asked my friend Susie at Studio Gallery 30A if she had any classes we could take. She offered a straw tote painting class, so I’m taking all of these ladies and a few of my girlfriends on Wednesday. It should be a lot of fun!
