Weekend Recap

Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend! Here’s a bit of what we’ve been up to over the past week or so.

Home Projects & Updates

As I’m working on my summer home tour, I finally washed a bunch of seashells I had been collecting from our beach visits! They look so pretty once they’re all cleaned up and (mostly) sand-free!

Around Town & For Fun

We had several little bouts of rain this past week, and there were quite a few rainbows out! My friend Ashley took this photo on her walk in our neighborhood and I thought it was so beautiful I had to share!

Kurtis was out of town several days this past week, so I had two friends over for happy hour one night. We reviewed Marissa’s kitchen renovation and caught up on life since we hadn’t gotten together for awhile! I finally picked one of our limes (and Rachel brought a few of her key limes she’s been growing at her house). It was fun to taste them both! We also have our Amigo’s margarita recipe down pat and it’s so good! We have two other friends who move to our neighborhood shortly (one just started moving in this weekend) so looking forward to more girls’ night ins like this!

These palomas I made for Kurtis and I (with another one of our limes) were so pretty I had to share! I forgot how much I love fresh grapefruit juice!

More golf cart rides to get outside – and tell kids it’s time to get on home before dark 😉 Mac’s (Rachel and Chris’ son) scooter was almost out of charge so we followed him home for a few miles through the neighborhood.

Kurtis got caught up in all the flight craziness that occurred these past few days. He left Omaha Thursday, made it to Atlanta, and after multiple delays, his flight was eventually cancelled around midnight. He was able to snag a hotel (after an hour+ wait in line to checkin) and got to sleep around 2. He had a 4 am wakeup call for his next flight which was supposed to depart Atlanta at 7 am. But, when he woke up, he already had an alert that flight was cancelled. So, he quickly booked a rental car and headed back to the airport. Thankfully he made the reservation when he did, because after waiting in the rental car line for over an hour, they were basically out of cars unless you had a reservation. So, long story semi-short, he got a car and was able to drive the rest of the way. Thankfully he made it home early Friday afternoon, as it seems the problems are still ongoing! Hopefully none of you were/are impacted!

Saturday night was our friend Chris’ birthday celebration, and they hired Mr. Hibachi for dinner. Such a fun experience and the food was all so good. This is a great option for larger groups if you visit 30A! They’ll come to you and cook wherever you’re staying. They were headed to a wedding, serving 100+, after our meal! Such a fun experience!

I recently found out that Walmart now has a section of pre-owned luxury handbags on their site like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, Chloe, Prada, etc. It’s part of their third party marketplace so they come from a variety of stores (and have different return policies), but for the most part, I found that the descriptions and photos were really helpful if you’re on the hunt for a pre-owned bag!

It’s hard to believe, but today marks our 19th wedding anniversary. I swear I don’t even know how that’s possible! We’re planning on dinner out to celebrate (not sure where yet!).

We have some other fun celebrations and events this week, as well, so it should be a fun one!
