Good morning! I hope you all had a nice weekend. Here’s a bit of what we’ve been up to over the past week or so.

Home Projects & Updates
This sounds a little crazy, but we played around with our new vacuum so much this weekend. It’s borderline fun to go around and see what the light can find. Ha! It’s a bit hard to capture in images, but I made a video here if you want to check it out. It was on sale through yesterday, but looks like the price has gone back up. I’ll be sure to mention if I see it go on sale again soon!
I think this might be the week I decide to harvest my first limes! I have a few about this size, and I’m excited to try them out!
And in news that might be exciting to literally nobody else, I found two kumquats that are starting to turn orange! They’re still so little (and higher up in the air since they’re on topiaries) so it’s hard to get a super clear picture. But there are so many little fruits on each of these that it’s going to be fun when all the color starts popping through!
The challenge with having so many plants around the yard is keeping up with the watering during periods of excessive heat like we’ve had. We’ve actually had a few showers mixed in, but it never seems to be enough to keep them thriving. I may have to add a few drip lines to the flower pots. I use fresh, clean water on the herbs and fruit pots, since our other yard water comes from the retention ponds around the neighborhood and is untreated. But having drip lines on the flowers would help immensely!

Around Town & For Fun
Our friends invited us over for dinner one night this week. Rachel said her food had better make the Weekend Recap, so here you go 😉 It was all super yummy and I always love her homemade pesto! There were also meatballs to go with the gnochi and caprese.
We took a few more golf cart rides throughout the week and still can’t get over the beauty of this area. Every day is just as beautiful as the last and there are photo ops around every corner!

Henley convinced us, very loudly, that we needed to turn the fire on for her one night this week while we were watching Suits. Funny enough, I bought those little anxiety pet pillows for Hawkeye and Henley is the only one that will use them. She’s definitely more of a cuddler though.
We spent a few hours at the Camp Creek pool.
We also hopped into Rosemary Beach two different nights. One, we had dinner at the bar at Gallion’s. They do a little happy hour from 3-5 each day called Apres Beach. We were the first ones there around 4, but by the time we left, the entire restaurant was almost full.
Another night, Kurtis was craving ice cream so we popped into town for that. He’s obsessed with Kilwin’s New Orleans Praline Pecan, and even though I don’t eat ice cream often, it’s one of my favorites too.
Saturday night we met our friends Kelli and Scott and Chris and Rachel down at the beach for dinner. It was a really fun night.
We headed home and watched the news for most of the remainder of the evening, as word reached us of the assassination attempt. Such a sad moment for our country. We have a friend and a family member currently in the hospital, so it’s painful to see such little regard for human life when there are others fighting so hard for their own. We continue to pray for our country, the senseless loss of life, unity, and for those fighting their own battles.
Kurtis continues to take his 3+ mile walks each morning before work, and it’s not uncommon for him to come upon some wildlife in our neighborhood. It’s so peaceful where we live, particularly in the early morning. I thought these two deer were so cute!
He has also been seeing this baby gator on his walks in various spots around one of the ponds. I’m a personal fan of all the egrets too.
We ended the weekend with a pizza date night at Amici, which is always a local favorite!
