1 – I’ve had kitchens on the brain again (see my last post here), and I’m wondering, has anyone found any other/newer alternatives to Carrera marble? Our search is finally beginning again and I’m in need of some help in this area. Blog posts, products, etc. would all be much appreciated! You can see my last comparison of products I’ve reviewed below and in this post.
2 – I don’t know what it is about fall, but for some reason, I feel like I need a poncho or massive scarf every year. Probably because it feels like I’m walking around with a blanket wrapped around me but I can consider it stylish. This tassel trim poncho fits the bill and I feel like for the price I can afford to go crazy on a whim. Know what I mean?
3 – I had heard about The Skimm a few weeks back and then my sister-in-law brought it to my attention again about two weeks ago. If you’re not familiar with the site, it’s essentially a newsletter you can sign up for that skims international headlines and delivers them to you in a sassy, editorial way. It’s an easy way to stay current on events without having to read lengthy articles across multiple sites. Highly recommended!
4 – Lindsay Letters (the maker of my O Holy Night Canvas) just launched her new Fresh Fall line – and is offering 15% off sitewide with code FRESHFALL – which includes all the amazing Christmas canvases.
5 – This item is likely extremely laughable. Not even joking, we have been using the most ridiculously old-school and cheap printer for the past ten+ years. We went to buy more ink cartridges a few weekends ago when it ran out, and the ink was more than a new printer. For reals. That’s how old this thing was. So instead, we opted for the new printer. It has been life changing for both me and my husband. How do you think I have new printables all of a sudden in the master bath and entryway? This bad boy. It’s affordable and has scanning, printing and copying functions. And now I have pretty {and free} art. Check out my Printables board on Pinterest for even more free options!
Now, be sure to stop by and check out all the tour’s for Wednesday’s Fall Home Tours! And check back tomorrow for all my favorites from the Pretty Preppy Party!

I didn’t think my printer was old, until I clicked through to see the price of yours. I spent that on ink last week… Looks like I’ll be upgrading next time my ink dries up too…

Haha! Right?!? I swear my printer was like $25 new ten years ago (it was seriously the cheapest one I could find). I about died when I saw it was going to cost $35 for the black and $35 for the colored ink. It didn’t even print well when it had ink so there was NO way that was going to happen. 🙂

Thanks for the reminder to take a look at my own printer. We have two in our house. One we use for only black and white and the other does color. I can guarantee they are at LEAST 10+ years old at this point.

Just wanted to add an option to your countertop choice. We have Torquay by Cambria and I really like it, very durable. There is pictures of it on my blog if you want to see it in a bigger scale.

Oh I love the Skimm!! I’ve been reading it for a while now and I don’t think I could ever give it up! Thanks for the heads up about the Lindsay Letters deal–I’m heading there now. I have her O Holy Night print and it’s my absolute favorite!! 🙂

We’re finishing up building our home and I so badly wanted to use carrara for our kitchen, but knew it just wasn’t realistic with small kids. I checked out what seems like every similar quartz option, but I just wasn’t very impressed. I felt like they were all trying to be marble….. but they aren’t. Some also seemed a little grainy/blury to me. We ended up going with River White granite. It was just installed this week and I have to say that I am in love. It’s not marble, but I don’t care one bit.

I *JUST* got the same printer two weeks ago. So far I love it (but it isn’t hard to beat my last one, that I practically had to wrestle with to get it to feed the sheets of paper). Nice choice!
