2014 Build Omaha Home Inspiration Tour Preview

Home Tour

On Sunday, I was asked by Build Omaha to attend their 2014 Home Inspiration Tour. I plan to give full tours of the homes in the coming weeks, but wanted to share a few of my favorite things today {especially for those locals who are contemplating going}. There were a lot of beautiful homes and fun ideas to consider! The tour runs until October 5th. Unfortunately, I only used my little point-and-shoot {which always seems like a good idea at the time} but the pictures never turn out amazing.

I loved this home office in Home #2 {Built by Zych Construction and designed by Lee Douglas Interiors}. The stained barn doors, octagonal cubby bookshelf, barn light, and framed cowhides were a fun spin on modern country.

From the same home comes my favorite piece of unique art that I would actually use in my own home. I love the elongated approach to this piece. Perfect for those odd spaces on your walls that you aren’t quite sure how to fill.

Most Insanely Awesome Closet Award goes to Home #4, which had a two-story closet, complete with leopard print carpet and black boutique-style shelving. Wow! Built by Quest Construction and designed by Becky Wiechman.

This staircase in Home #7 was so incredible and even more beautiful than pictures can show. Grass cloth, paneling, gray-stained birch railing and that amazing iron detail work? Yes please!  Built by Landmark Performance Homes and designed by Lee Douglas Interiors.

And the feature I want to incorporate most in our home? These gorgeous beams from Home #5 by Platinum Builders {also designed by the builder}. I had a chance to talk with the builder {she has such a fun personality} and the beams are cedar that has been stained and painted. Aren’t these gorgeous?! I love the driftwood effect she was able to achieve!

I’ll be back next week with some full home tours, but I hope you’ve enjoyed this little sneak peak!

Lastly, be sure to stop by and visit all the Tuesday Fall Home Tours that were added today! You won’t regret it!

Holy cow! That two story closet with that carpet! It’s a bit much for me, but I wouldn’t mind having a two story closet. If I install a larger closet I wonder if my apartment complex would give me the boot?! Haha!

Could you find out the name of that fabric that was used for drapes in that last photo? It’s beautiful.

I would recommend reaching out to the builder/designer. Just let her know you saw the space on my site from the Build Omaha Tour and hopefully she can point you in the right direction. Here is the link to her Contact Page: http://www.platinumbuildersllc.com/contact-us/
