Welcome to this week’s Wednesday Watch List, where I share the random and amazing things that caught my eye and/or captured my attention over the past week.

1 – Lately I’ve been contemplating taking the blues a little deeper in my living room. Think cobalts mixed with whites and navy. I’m loving this blue and white living room in this home, and the exterior details {that railing!} are to die for. Be sure to check out the entire home tour if you love all things coastal.
2 – I’ve been meaning to post about this homemade popcorn recipe for awhile. I shared it on Instagram and then forgot to share here on the blog. But basically, this has been our favorite, little-guilt treat around here lately. My friend Summer from Simple Stylings shared the recipe on Instagram and we’ve modified it slightly to our liking and are super obsessed. Here’s how we make it:
1 brown paper lunch bag
1/4 cup popcorn kernals
1 tablespoon organic coconut oil {sometimes I’ll leave this out entirely} – we buy this in bulk from Costco
sea salt to taste
fold bag shut
*Our microwave requires us to hit the full bag microwave button / plus 30 seconds more / we then still have kernals leftover that we’ll use on our next batch
add additional sea salt to taste
Seriously, this has become my all-time favorite popcorn. The slight hint of coconut oil with the sea salt is perfection. I also love that there are no weird chemicals or creepy bags. I pretty much feel like eating this popcorn is the equivalent of eating an apple 😉
3 – I ordered these striped linen pants and can’t wait until they arrive. I’ve been on the lookout for an affordable pair of linen-like pants I could wear this spring/summer when I’m not in the mood for jeans. I’m hoping this blended version won’t wrinkle as badly as the real deal, too. They also come in black, white and khaki solids so I may be ordering more soon if I find they fit well. With the current sale, they come in at just over $20! The reviews are all very positive so I’m optimistic they’ll be a keeper. I also added this eyelet tee to my online basket in the ‘lime is up’ color {which really looks like a pale yellow} – seems so perfect for spring – again at a total bargain around $16 with the current sale!
4 – Speaking of blue and white in the living room… I’ve added these pillows to my cart several times now {I’m also a big fan of these mint and white pillows}. The fact that they include the down insert make it a total no-brainer. I’m still just trying to decide if I can commit to the dark blues – but I think the watercolor/tie-day effect and change-up may be perfect for summer! I’m clearly thinking of adding that California vibe to this Nebraska household this summer.
5 – I’m pretty much obsessed with Trouble by Iggy Azalea and Jennifer Hudson {you can watch the music video here}. In fact, I would go as far to say as I am stellar when it comes to performing all of Iggy’s lines. At least in my mind…you must give it at least a listen or two. Sometimes I think I’m a legit rap star.

Three things: First, I kept trying to read your post through FB on my IPhone and once it connects me to your blog it asks me to download an APP so I would cancel. I did it several times and continued doing it. Is it just me or is there something wrong with the link? Second, I’ve loved navy, dark blues, with whites. That living feels so calming and serene. I’m hoping to make this my theme color for our home office. Third, I have stripe linen pants like in the picture only with different color. It’s so comfortable and I love wearing it at home or doing errands. I’ve had it since I was single. My hubby, however, commented it looks like pajamas. Granted, men aren’t very good judge of fashion it still makes me re-think what I’m going to wear every time I want to reach for these pants. Any thoughts?

I’ve actually had three or four people comment they are getting redirected as well. I think it must be an ad on the site so I’ve let my ad company know I want whatever it is removed ASAP. I think it is only happening to mobile users but it is REALLY annoying. Hopefully it will be gone by the end of the day 🙂 I appreciate you letting me know about it. I love your husband’s comments on the pants. Sometimes they just don’t get it, do they 😉 I think I would mostly wear them casually, not for work, etc. so I’m okay with a more casual feel.

I love those pillows. We have such similar style…just a few days ago I bought a bunch of indigo and navy Lacefield fabrics to make pillows. My coastal looking house was starting to look like an Easter egg from all the pastel, so I’m experimenting with layering in darker hues! Funny that you mentioned the same:) I am also obsess with the look of watercolor inspired pillows….have you thought about DIYing one? Next time I go to Ikea I’m going to buy some of their white pillow covers and attempt to make my own! You inspired me with one of your Christmas projects to attempt painting on pillow covers;)
