I had to go to Washington D.C. for work on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. I was really disappointed that I was just a little too early for the cherry blossoms blooming. However, this is such a beautiful city and I feel I can appreciate it much more now as I am older (it definitely isn’t as exciting going as a junior in high school, which was when I went when I was younger). I am not a huge history fan, but it is hard not to get excited when you see all the famous monuments and historical sites. We were taken to the Watergate for dinner (the first photo and home of the infamous Nixon scandal) and then the Kennedy Center that night to see a show. It is amazing that from the top of the Kennedy Center, in a very small range, you can see Georgetown, the Watergate, the Capitol, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, the Pentagon, the Potomac River and Arlington Cemetery!  Following are photos from my trip in September (the prettier photos) when I was also there for work and again from this trip (I loaded them small, so you may have to click on them to see the cool sights). The interior photos are of the inside of the Capitol. If you ever have the opportunity to go, it is a great city – now I just need to take the husband. He is such a history buff and would be in heaven!
