While Easter day may look different for many of us this year, the message for the day doesn’t change, and I still strongly believe we should celebrate as we would have in the past, but in new ways. This may mean watching your church service from home and only having a celebratory meal with your immediate family rather than a larger group, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make it special! And now, more than ever, home is our retreat from this crazy world and is the haven where we want to feel safe and cozy.
Today I’m sharing an Easter brunch tablescape idea, along with a bit of spring inspiration along the way! Everything I’m featuring is from JCPenney and I love that it’s a one-stop shop for both home decor and fashion! The best part? It’s currently their Friends & Family Sale, so everything I’m sharing is an extra 30% off today with code FRIENDS!
Just because your meal may be smaller than in the past, doesn’t mean you can’t make it feel as special as ever! And in challenging years like this one, it’s even more important than ever to celebrate things that matter most in life. You can still keep your overall tablescape and meal super simple, but make it feel special with a few easy upgrades!
I recently picked up this dish set (I also really like this set) that I know I can use, not only for Easter brunch, but for most seasons and holidays throughout the year. I love the pretty floral pattern and the solid blue peeking out on the underside. You can essentially get a four piece serving for what one plate costs at many other stores! Such a fun addition for spring.
I also picked up several pieces from the Certified International Artisan collection, including this pitcher and set of serving bowls. They are dishwasher safe but have a beautiful raw and glazed finish that is both timeless and on trend. Since they’re so neutral, they can be mixed and matched with other items you may already own!
And these chambray napkins may be one of my favorite linen finds in a while! They’re the perfect shade of woven blue, and I love that they come in a set of 6 (rather than most sets I see that come in a pack of 4). They’ll definitely be a year-round staple!
I kept the color-scheme in our dining room fairly simple, using French blue, white and soft green tones. I love the fresh feeling of this color combo for spring! You could add some seasonal tulips to your table like I did, or go cut some fresh blooms or branches from your yard to add to the spring vibes.
I’m usually not big on super specific seasonal decor, but when I saw these bunny salt & pepper shakers, I knew they’d be a fun addition to the table. I also picked up this cute bunny candy dish to coordinate with them. They look so cute on top of this French blue burlap table runner! You can find even more of their cute Easter decor here. I’m loving this gorgeous tulip wreath that arrived since I placed my order!
I’m just loving the dishes in combination with the pretty embroidered floral pillows too! The best part is they reverse to a pretty blue and white stripe that mimics the look of seersucker! They’re also the perfect size to use on dining chairs.
I bought this faux wrap plaid sheath dress in early February before I knew what Easter may look like this year, and still love it! I’m so happy I went with something so versatile that can be worn for everything from Easter day to summer weddings and more! I ordered my regular size Large and the fit is great! It’s flowy but fitted in all the right places.
If you’ve already bought Easter outfits for your family, why not still dress up for the day, and take some photos outside! Social distancing doesn’t mean we have to sit in our pajamas all day (although that’s sometimes fun too). 😉 Dressing up will help make the day feel even more special! And if you have small kids, promise them an Easter egg hunt afterwards, and I’m sure they’ll go along with your plans!
And these scalloped pumps could not be cuter! They have a great designer look at a much more affordable price point. I feel like they run slightly small, so I’d order up a half size if possible. They come in four pretty colors that are all so cute for spring and summer! I think they’ll work well with more casual outfits, too!
I hope you found some pieces you love to help you celebrate the Easter season on into spring and the warmer months!
Thank you to Mandy McGregor for the photos!

Hi! Where is the large white washed china cabinet from that is in your dining room photos? Thanks.
Sarah says
Hi Gina! I got it from Nebraska Furniture Mart several years ago, and unfortunately it’s no longer available. I have a post with all the exact info and some good alternatives here if you’re interested! https://lifeonvirginiastreet.com/reclaimed-wood-dining-room-hutch-alternatives/

Love your style Sarah! We just retired and downsized into our little cottage on the lake and sold our bigger home in the suburbs where we worked and raised our kids. Because of that, I have to be very careful of what I purchase because of storage! I loved the chambray napkins and the serving dishes but I have to keep it real and only purchase what I absolutely need lately! Keep the good ideas coming and I also loved your faux wrap dress!

Thank you so much Marianne! I would definitely trade storage for lake views! 🙂

Hi, where did you get your beautiful white chairs? This is exactly what I’m looking for but have had no luck!
Sarah says
They were from Hayneedle several years back but are no longer available unfortunately!
