Entertainment Center Reveal

Here is the big reveal of our entertainment center, and I am super happy at how it turned out!

The moment you have all been waiting for.  Okay, maybe I am the only one who has been waiting for it.  The entertainment center in our bonus room is pretty much complete.  Clearly the decorating is a work in progress since nothing matches and we need to add the trim piece between the locker and the wall, but other than that I LOVE how it turned out!  You can also see glimpses of the new light but more will follow on that once I finish decorating.

The painted cabinets and top along the way {all red oak either painted with a semi-gloss white or stained with Bombay Mahogany stain}:

The finished product:

Fabric armchairs, and a chandelier are in the bonus room.

I love all the extra storage and the free floor space.  It feels like a whole new room!  Clearly we had some challenges with the sloped ceiling, tight quarters, limited outlets, etc.  However, I am very impressed with the husband’s handyman skills on this project ~ he did a great job taking orders from me and doing things like re-wiring where the cable box was {so we didn’t have unsightly cords all over}, extending the outlet boxes into the cabinets {same reason as the cable boxes}, running cable through the attic all they way to our basement, cutting crown molding, etc.  I LOVE it and can’t wait until the room is totally finished!

Let’s see hubby laugh now {let’s face it – he probably still will}.  I think my pre-construction rendering was pretty much amazing and very insightful.
