Coastal Home Office Tour

Before I start revealing spaces in our new home, I thought I should first share the one space in our last home I didn’t ever share much: my home office. It’s actually the room I spent the most time in on any given day, but with that, it was pretty much always a disaster! But right before we moved and I emptied all my books and personal belongings, I took some quick pictures to share but also to have for my personal memory!

Step inside this coastal home office, decorated in shades of blue and sand with seashells, coral, and more!

For those that have been reading here for awhile, you may recall that the room we used as my office in our last house was meant to be the master bedroom. But it was right off the entryway and Kurtis and I prefer a second story bedroom, so we felt it made the most sense to make it my home office. With that though, the bathroom and adjoining closet were still what we used to get ready and store our clothes. So honestly, it was always kind of a cluster. Ha!

While I didn’t really spend any time styling these photos because my priority was the move at the time, I still thought it would be fun to share more of the space where I spent a lot of time. This was very much a working office so function took priority over form in some cases. Below is the view from the doorway off the entryway. We bought two desks for the space because Kurtis loved that setup in my office in our Omaha home. But as it turned out in this house, he literally never used that desk while we lived there. So it basically became our mail/package center and a major junk collector.

Instead, when Kurtis did come into my office, he sat in this chair. The same chair that he originally told me was too small and he’d never use it. Turns out he actually really loved it and was sad to say goodbye to it. I personally loved that driftwood floor lamp so much – it had such a unique vibe! Even though we sold our home fully furnished and decorated, I did stipulate that I wanted to take all of my seashells, coral, and books with us!

I obviously have quite the coffee table book collection and I love them all so much, despite them making the room look a bit chaotic! They definitely weren’t fun when it came to moving all of them either. I ended up buying the same bookcase (this time in the Chalk color) for my new office because I loved this one so much and it’s substantial enough to hold all of the weight required. The bottom cabinet allowed me to store all of my photography equipment like my camera, lenses, tripods, drone equipment and more.

Here was the view from my desk looking into the entryway.

On the wall opposite my bookcase was this cabinet that held all of my swimsuits, jewelry, and fabric and wallpaper samples. It was quite the little collection of random things inside!

I always love a good candle and this scent was the one I loved most in my office. I already bought a new one for my new office!

The details on this seashell mirror were so pretty! I was sad to leave it behind!

And lastly, my DIY seashell art that hung over the desk that was intended to be Kurtis’. If you noticed in the first image, a matching blank frame was hung over my desk. I never quite gathered enough seashells to fill it so it’s on my to-do list.

And that wraps up the tour! I’m still waiting for a cabinet to arrive for my new office so I can get a few boxes unpacked and off the floor. It arrives in a few more weeks and then I’ll be able to share the progress on my new home office!
