A Few Fall Fashion Trends I’m Loving

Today I’m sharing a few fall fashion trends that I’m loving for the upcoming season! Includes full outfit and accessory ideas using ditsy floral prints, tortoise shell accessories, sweater blazers & more!

This post is sponsored by Nordstrom and ShopStyle and contains affiliate links for your shopping convenience. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own. Click here to read my full disclosure policy.

Can you believe we’ve already arrived at the start of Labor Day weekend?! The year has continued to fly by and I’m still a bit in shock that we’re about to start a brand new season. Our weather has been freakishly weird for August, so I feel like we’ve seen our fair share of fall days already this month. Today I’m going to share a few fall fashion trends I’m loving this year! All of these trends come from Nordstrom, one of my go-to favorites year after year. Their vast selection of fashion forward trends (and home decor!) as well as their free shipping and returns make them a no-brainer in my book! Even better? A lot of what I’m sharing today just got marked down!

I’m usually not a bold floral print type of person, but this season, I’m really loving all the ditsy floral prints! Think: colorful floral in a really small scale. I’m especially loving the trend when it’s paired with smocking, ruffles, or other pretty feminine details! There are so many great looks in this pattern this fall, and I’ll be sharing a few options later in this post.

After falling in love with a similarly printed top in the summer, I picked up this J.Crew Liberty Elderberry Floral Shirt for fall (similar alternative products shown further down in the post). The colors on it are stunning! Doesn’t it pair well with our limelight hydrangeas, too?! 😉

This quilted Thread & Supply jacket is one of my favorite purchases of the year! The exterior is polished with the quilted pattern and pockets, and the interior is a cozy fluffy fleece! It truly is the perfect clever fall jacket. It also comes in a blush mocha color, but this slate green is my favorite and seems to pair well with everything! If you buy it, the wet sleeve is not included 😉 We shot these photos shortly after a rainstorm and the hydrangeas loved to transfer as much of the water as possible to my clothes! Side note: my hydrangea A Simple Summer Tablescape with Hydrangeas blog post is now ready!

I think we’re also going to see tortoise shell accessories come back with a vengeance again this fall and winter! I’m especially loving these cool chunky and oversized BaubleBar Tortoiseshell Hoop earrings! I’ve worn them throughout most of August already!

These knee-high boots from Børn were a favorite from the Anniversary Sale. I can’t get over the gorgeous cognac color and the combo of leather and suede. The best part? They’re crazy comfy and they have just enough of a heel to be extra flattering and make your legs look longer.

You can see the detail and color on the floral top a bit closer here (while I’m swatting a rogue lightning bug off me). The top has a slim cut and fits perfectly – as the name suggests! I ordered my regular size (12), but I’d order up a size if you are a large C cup or bigger. These Wit & Wisdom high-waist skinny jeans are beyond comfy. If you haven’t tried their Ab-solution stretchy waist line after my years of raving about them, you are seriously missing out! They fit true to size (I’m wearing my usual 12 here) and always fit like a dream!

Following are some additional floral looks this year. I included a few designer versions as well, so you can see just how far-spread this floral trend has become! Click on any of the images below for additional details on the item.

I’m also really loving all the sweater blazers available this season! Now that so many offices have gone to a more business casual style, structured blazers of the past are becoming less common. They sweater blazers are heavier than a typical cardigan, with a structured look that’s a bit more comfortable. I love pairing a graphic tee or cute top with a sweater blazer for a polished yet casual look! They work just as well at the office as they do out running errands. And in many climates, they can even take the place of a jacket!

I bought this J. Crew Juliette Collarless Sweater Blazer last fall and was so happy to see they brought it back again this year! The neutral camel color (heather khaki) looks great with graphic tees or chambray button-ups, as well as an all-black look head-to-toe to dress it up. It has so many possibilities! I also love the length and fit of these Kut from the Kloth high-waist bootcut jeans. I’ve owned them in the past in a darker wash, and was excited to see this mid-tone wash in stock this year for fall!

The sweater blazer definitely has an oversized boxier fit, and I sized down to a medium. I love the patch pocket details as well as the collarless look! The quality, weight and weave are all top-notch.

These J. Crew gold and resin tortoise earrings are a recent buy and I’m loving them for fall! They’re substantial but not heavy and the gold paired with the tortoise is a beautiful combination!

Here’s a closer look at the earring detail. I’m in love! I bought the J. Crew Montauk tee earlier this summer and love the graphic punch it adds under a cardigan or blazer. I actually love it so much I bought the sweatshirt version as well!

Following are some additional sweater blazers I’m loving. I’m definitely eyeing that color-block version! Click any of the images below for additional details on the item.

And because I’m such a fan of the tortoise shell inspired accessories, following are a few other finds that I think will be a big hit this year! Click on any of the images below for additional details on the item.

Happy fall clothes shopping!

The clothes are cute, but can you link the bowl? Home decor obsessed, obviously. 🙂
