I am sharing my simple summer tablescape with freshly cut hydrangeas from the garden!
I’ve had good intentions of photographing a summer tablescape all summer and it only took me until the last two weeks of August to do it 😉 But, that actually worked out in my favor because I was able to utilize all the stunning hydrangeas blooming in our yard! Today I’m sharing our simple summer tablescape with hydrangeas. And when I say simple, I mean really simple!

I was honestly at the point I was just going to scrap putting together a look for summer. But, I already had all of the pieces to make the table setting work and I also realized I hadn’t taken any new photos of our dining room since January! Add in our fresh hydrangeas that are in full bloom all around our yard and I decided to finally put something together last week. The hydrangeas alone made it worth a little dining room photography session. I’m just trying to soak in all the hot summer vibes for as long as possible around here!

If you’ve followed me for any amount of time, you likely know that I like things to be unfussy and uncluttered. I don’t want the decor on the table to overpower or get in the way of an actual meal! Our faux fiddle leaf fig is still going strong in the dining room space. You can find my tips on how to style it to make it look real here.
We’ve had these scalloped plates most of the summer now and love them! They also sell a dinner plate version, but I decided to just buy the salad plate size and pair them with our everyday white plates. We’ve had these striped tassel napkins for some time now, too, and I love that the small pop of coral thread elevate them and will help carry the napkins into fall!
If I could have freshly cut hydrangeas in our home every day of the week, I absolutely would! Our limelights are huge this year and they always make for such pretty clippings around the house. Plus they smell heavenly!
I loved that I could create a simple tablescape with items we already had on hand and some clippings from our yard! Add it to the list of reasons why everyone needs multiple hydrangea bushes in their yards 🙂 They literally get better with blooms every year!
I’ve been contemplating pulling this rug to use in one of our guest bedrooms because I think it would work great for the plans I have there. But then I remember how well it works with the art and furniture in the dining room so I’m torn! During Kurtis’ work party two weeks ago, a half glass of red wine spilled on the entire bottom left section of the rug and I was shocked at how well the rug cleaned up. Like basically with no effort – thankfully!
And this view of our dining room from our kitchen is still one of my favorites! I love how all the colors are cohesive and work so well together right now!
I hope you enjoyed this fresh simple summer tablescape and glimpse of our home in the summer months! It’s hard to believe I’m only a few weeks out from decorating for fall for my tour in mid-September. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I agree the rug and art look perfect together.

I always LOVE your simple table scapes. They are my favorite. I think the food should be the star of the show. ( not a cluttered table)

Your dining room is so pretty. I just painted mine Snowfall white and it looks so pretty. I am just struggling with having wood strips on one wall or just chair rail.
