Today I am sharing some fresh unique design details in my fall home tour!
Welcome to my unique fall home tour! With the exception of the Christmas Season, I tend to keep seasonal decorating to a minimum around here. In the fall, I like to neutralize and bring in some natural earthy elements from the outdoors – hydrangeas, leaves, etc. – for some visual interest and added texture. Very likely not what you would call traditional fall decorating, but I love it nevertheless! Throughout the week, you’ll have the ability to tour 35+ other bloggers’ homes as well – so don’t miss out on the links at the bottom of this post!
My Fall Home Decorating
In the entry at the base of our stairs, I simply added some drying Annabelle hydrangeas to the pretty glass bottles that were already there. The added texture to the glass bottles helps to warm the space up a little and I love the added pop of green. I love the look in combination with the wood frame I got from HomeGoods {yes, the frame that still includes a photo of another family}.

Further down our main hallway, leading to our living room, kitchen and dining rooms, I updated the console table with a free fall printable from Nest of Posies and then filled a wooden bowl/tray with hydrangea clippings from our limelights – which turn a beautiful pink to maroon color in the fall.

In the living room, I made some minor changes by removing some of the blue and green elements that read a little more ‘summer’ to me and replaced them with warm yellows and browns. With that, I swapped out a few of my throw pillows {check out this post for my tips on easily transitioning your throw pillow for fall}. I’m also huge fan of the faux white pumpkins I picked up at Michael’s a few years back. They are definitely a better option for me than live ones with the cats. The wheat on the other hand is proving to be a real nightmare.

Fall is also a time I like to leave out our fresh produce in plain site on the counters or in wire baskets. I also tend to use faux fruits and veggies more in the fall as well, like the pears below. Also I picked up the wire basket from Target in the Dollar Section and I think they were $3 each but they were another 30% off on my Cartwheel that day!
The dining room, because it is so monochromatic otherwise, is one of the few places I interjected some true neutral fall colors. I picked up the silver-studded orange pillows, the table runner and the wood and mirror tray from HomeGoods. The leaves are from Michael’s {the yellow aspen are faux and the copper maple leaves were preserved}.

In my office, I kept things mostly the same as well, but brought in some of the hydrangea clippings. When the white blooms turn this beautiful lime green color in the fall, it really is one of my most favorite looks from the hydrangeas. And now that I have nearly a dozen hydrangea plants in our yard, it makes it a little easier to find some clippings to use! I have found that they are drying out really well so I may be able to use the same blooms down the road for decorating.

During the fall and winter seasons, we add some additional layers to our bedding in our master bedroom and it’s always fun to add a little faux fur for warmth in the form of a throw at the foot of the bed.

Lastly, I made this easy fall planter crate from an unfinished wood crate I picked up at Michael’s. I love the combo of the deep reds and purples with the greens of the cabbage!

Thanks! I got the upholstered chairs at Sears a few years back.
Hello. I loved your tour and the minimal, tasteful decorations on your home. It’s just beautiful. Would you mind sharing the name of the color of paint in the bedroom picture? It’s a pale greenish blue. It’s the photo where you comment on the throw blanket. Thanks again. Really enjoyed the tour.
Thank you! The paint color in our bedroom is Sea Salt from Sherwin Williams. We love it!

I know this post is a few months old, but I am just now seeing it, and I absolutely love all of your decor! Where did you get all of those blue glass vases you have throughout every room?? I covet them!
Thank you so much!! I have collected them over time but I believe I purchased all of them from HomeGoods, Marshall’s, TJ Maxx and two or three from Pier 1 Imports. They go in batches at the HomeGoods stores so everytime they get them in, I snatch them up!
Totally lovely! May I ask what the paint color is in your entry? I love it!
Thank you! The paint color is Behr Castle Path.
