Good morning! I hope you all have had a nice few weeks. Here’s what we’ve been up to over the past few weeks or so.

Home Projects & Updates
I shared these acrylic side tables a few months ago in my Wednesday Watch List. We’ve really been enjoying them and I’ve been meaning to share them again. I love that they’re visually discreet but also perfectly functional to hold items when you may not have room for a full-sized side table.
LIVING ROOM SOURCES: Sofa | Coffee Table | Rug | Acrylic Side Table | Linen Pillow | Reversible Floral Pillow | Scalloped Tray | Vase | Rope Chandeliers | Swivel Counter Stools
I finally tackled my “pillow problem” I had in a closet upstairs. When we moved from Omaha, we obviously downsized rather considerably and I just hadn’t taken the time yet to figure out which pillow inserts and covers I still needed or would use again. But, I took a day to do it and so glad to have that off the list! Here are some in-progress shots, but let’s just say I was able to donate a lot.
Here was Hawkeye, mid-progress wondering why the heck he’s never seen this space before. Let’s just say the floor wasn’t previously passable, little buddy 😉
I’m also scheming some fun projects out in the carriage house, so I have spent some time out there recently. The fresh palm fronds always make me happy!

I’m also excited to share that I found someone to do a few wallpaper projects I have in mind. It’s a husband and wife team and I’m hoping to meet with them soon. I saw a local designer recommend them, and then randomly a few days later, a neighbor also highly recommended them. I’m such a beginner, I don’t even know how to measure how much to order but it sounds like they’ll help with that, as well! So, wallpaper coming soon to a few spaces once I can get an appointment!
Our dining room project is on hold a bit until Kurtis’ travel schedule calms down a bit. But I did make a purchase yesterday to start working on our guest bedroom! It literally just has a bed and nightstand and nothing else, so it needs some major help. It’s one of the rooms we never even added a light fixture too, either, since it has can lights as well. So, I’m excited to share more of those plans soon!
In Case You Missed It
Following are the posts I shared over the past few weeks, in case you missed some days!
Around Town & For Fun
Kurtis was in Charlotte two weeks ago for work so I had dinner with friends a few nights. And of course took the golf cart out one night for a ride.
Little friends along our paths. This might be the first gator I had seen this year (or at least for a fair number of months).
My Instagram friend, Michelle, was in town with her family visiting from Omaha for the first time. Funny enough, she and I had tried to meet up multiple times over the years when I still lived there and it never happened. But we were finally able to get together one night for dinner down here! We first went to an open house for a gulf front house for sale and then went to Amigos and chatted for a few hours. It was great to finally meet! I’m sad we didn’t get a picture together (and I only took one of the pool at the house).
Kurtis’ best friend from college, Joe, was in town with his family two weeks ago. Kurtis had been in Charlotte for work just prior and then we had to leave for Salt Lake once he got back, but they were able to meet for breakfast the morning he was here. Joe set a goal to throw a baseball every day with someone and ask them questions as you throw. Kurtis was his person for the day!
We spent five days in Utah to attend my aunt’s visitation and funeral and to spend time with my parents and brother and sister-in-law. It was obviously a somber few days but still really nice to have an unplanned trip to see everyone. It was also nice to see my cousins and some friends we hadn’t seen in a few years. I loved this picture on display of my aunt and dad. I’m guessing it was taken just before I was born or around that time. She was such a fun aunt with a contagious personality and laugh and will be greatly missed! The service and celebration of her life were beautiful.
My parents lost their puggle when we were visiting at Christmas time, just a few days before we also had to say goodbye to Bailey. They then adopted Bella a few months later and we finally got to meet her on the trip. She’s the cutest thing ever and has endless energy. I think my parents forgot just how time intensive puppies are 😉 My brother brought his lab down from Idaho and they had a blast playing together for hours on end.
We got back to Florida Tuesday night. On Wednesday, one of my blogging friends, Stefana, was in town. She had rented Hola Beaches Casita for the week with her family, so Rachel and I met her for dinner. I don’t think they had ever met in person before and we had a four hour long dinner at Citizen catching up. It was a lot of fun! I had a bunch of questions on my dress when I shared this image on Instagram. It’s this one that I have in a few patterns now, but this one might be my favorite yet! It fits true to size.
The cats are extra clingy after we are gone for any amount of time, so they certainly milked it this past week. Thankfully they have some sitters they love! Henley got plenty of fire time and Hawkeye got plenty of sitting-by-mom-on-the-couch time.
It seems we often end up at Amigos or Amici on Friday nights and run into friends who are also there. This past week was no exception, and we continue to enjoy hanging out and chatting in the green space afterwards!
Saturday afternoon we headed to the beach for a few hours with some friends. It was busier than we expected (now that school has started back up and the tourists are waning), but it was such a beautiful day! We headed to Bruno’s for pizza afterwards, which is something we always enjoy doing in the summer but hadn’t yet done so this year.
Kurtis and I ended the weekend with a quick golf cart ride around the neighborhood. It’s clear the sun is already setting so much earlier, so our ride was cut a bit short but still nice to get out and enjoy the fresh air! Both the moon and the sunset were showing off last night (even though I caught the sunset a bit late).
It’s a busy few weeks ahead, as it tends to be for most as we head into fall. Kurtis will be traveling the next five weeks straight, and I have some overlap with him, as well. Late next week we head to Iowa and Omaha for our niece’s baby shower and to spend time with our besties and goddaughters. I then have a friend from Omaha coming for several days and Kurtis and I then both travel for work. This all happens within the next 30 days so it’s going to be an active month! All that to say, my Weekend Recap posting schedule may be a bit sporadic over the coming month or so!

Once again, you have inspired me. This time to tackle my messy array of pillows…I mean who needs SO many? Thank you for that😀
Wish I had a little Hawkeye helper.
It will be fun to follow your wallpaper projects…and whatever fun things you have planned for the Carriage House.
Cute photo of your dad and aunt. Sorry you lost her. She looks like she was the fun aunt!
