Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend! Is anyone else as excited as I am that the end of January is only a few short days away?! Spring is getting closer and closer and I can’t wait! Here’s a bit of what we’ve been up to over the past week or so.

Home Projects & Updates
A few weeks back, I did a poll on Instagram to see what people wanted to see more of from me this year. The overwhelming response was the bedrooms in our house. I think some thought I’d been hiding some super amazing projects or spaces. Ha!
So, I did a quick little video tour on my Instagram of our upstairs spaces. Here is our only guest room in the house. It was basically the recipient of things we didn’t use in other spaces. Since our guests always stay in the carriage house, this room will basically be overflow if we’re hosting a larger group (and Hola Beaches isn’t available).
Here’s a view from the closet corner on more of a wide angle setting so you can see it all better. It’s a great blank space, but it really isn’t my priority at this point to decorate. I have far too many other spaces on my project list!
Since we’re using one of the bedrooms as my office, the only other “bedroom” in the house is the cat room. There’s a bed in there but it obviously doesn’t get used. Their litter boxes are in the bathroom, and they’re really only in this room to use the bathroom or if we have guys over working on the punch list and we need to keep the cats out of the way. I recently ordered this rug to help a bit with litter getting tracked out, and it’s a great budget oushak look without the oushak price. It’s super thin, but also soft to the touch. This photo is on wide-angle again, so you can see the full layout.
Here you can see the colors in the rug a bit better. And Henley’s tail 😉

Speaking of Hola Beaches, I’m making a few tweaks for the new season. I ordered these chairs last week and can’t wait for them to arrive later today (I’ll hop on Instagram Stories when they do)! The reviews are excellent and I think they’re going to look so cute in the space. They’re available at multiple retailers but I found them for the best price here.
As I mentioned last week, we’d love to find chairs that can last more than two seasons so I’ll keep you posted on how these wear over time in a high-traffic area. Here’s a mood board I made of the updated space. The sectional is super similar to the one we have in here that the prior owners purchased locally. Still trying to figure out the pillow situation.

In Case You Missed It
Following are the posts I shared over the past few weeks, in case you missed some days!
Around Town & For Fun
Kurtis was in Dallas for several days this past week. I had more meetings and conference calls than I can remember in a long time, so it worked out that he was traveling. It’s also that fun time of year for taxes – especially owning four different businesses now.
By Wednesday night I was going a bit stir crazy so I crashed Rachel and Chris’ date night. We had dinner at Amigo’s and then he talked us into hitting the new arcade afterwards.
I wore this outfit for the night. This striped blouse was a splurge but has quickly become my new favorite! I’m in a size Large and it’s roomy, so I’d size down in this one if you’re between sizes. It’s so cute!

My parents flew in from Utah on Saturday around lunch time. We took them to our favorite dive oyster bar in Panama City Beach for lunch. It’s always such a fun vibe and my dad couldn’t stop talking about the volume of dollar bills on their ceiling and walls.
We headed home and gave them a tour of the house and hung out for a bit, since it stormed most of the afternoon. Once the storm broke up we headed to Amigo’s for dinner (my third time that week). Ha!
Sunday we decided to head over to Baytowne Wharf in the Sandestin area. It was super slow since we’re out of season so it was fun to explore the area and do a little research for our short-term renters when they’re here. I think it would be a lot of fun with younger kids because they have rides, a rope course, playground, etc. We were mostly wanting to get out of the house and enjoy the sunshine, so we wandered the marina, and scoped out all of the restaurants they had to offer.
We ended up having lunch at Hammerhead’s because it was one of the few that overlooked the marina one direction and then the wetlands and bay to the other direction. It was a bit chilly when the wind blew, but it was still pretty great to sit outside in the sun for lunch – in January!
After lunch, and picking up some coffees to go, we then headed home. Kurtis wanted to watch the two football playoff games, so he and my dad hit the hot tub while my mom and I sat in the sun in our sweats!
My parents are here for the rest of the week, and my aunt (mom’s sister) and uncle from Kansas City also arrive tomorrow. So we’ll be moving the crew down to Hola Beaches for the rest of their stay so they have a bit more space and more things to do when we’re working. Weather permitting, we’re hoping to take a boat ride, head to a stable to ride horses, or do a gator tour while they’re here. Should be a fun week, especially if we can get the temps up a few degrees and keep the sun out!

Love seeing the area where you live, it looks so charming. We have three cats, I swear by a jute mat in front of the litter box, to track litter, works a treat. We have a Litter Robot, so no scooping and it’s always clean. I noticed you don’t have any cat trees in the house, you can get some beautiful natural tree branch and wicker ones that look so coastal, your cats would love it! Maybe out in the screened porch where they could spy on birds etc! Love your new house!

Thank you! I’ll have to try a jute mat! We had a litter robot and one was so terrified of it and wouldn’t go in it. It worked like a charm with the others, but we quickly realized we just had to go back to old school sadly. I think a cat tree on the screened in porch is a great idea!
