Wednesday Watch List

Fashion and Beauty, Wednesday Watch List

I’ve decided to start a new weekly post series called Wednesday Watch List. Throughout any given week, I find random things I think would be fun to share, but most times, these items don’t warrant a post all on their own. I also used to occasionally post about things I was loving lately and I’ve missed those posts. So, I thought it would be fun to start this series to share things I have found interesting / products I’ve tried / images I love, etc. all in one round-up of five items.

Without further adieu, welcome to the first Wednesday Watch List!

1 – I found out via the Kate Spade website that they now carry iPhone 5C cases! This is huge! When I got my 5C, I honestly didn’t care what phone I had but knew I needed a new one {my old phone was having issues}. I had NO idea what a pain it would be to own a 5C – nobody makes cases for them! So I ordered this adorable one the day I saw the news from KS.

2 – This may just be the most perfect home tour of all time. I’m planning a little room redo based on the style of this home, but you’ll have to wait until tomorrow’s post to see where in our home I’m referencing! I’m hoping the updates I make will look even half as good as the spaces in this beautiful home.

3 – I just bought two of these throws from Target and couldn’t love them more – especially given that the price is only $19.99 a piece {it also comes in coral, yellow and tan}. They are nearly a dead ringer for the $295 Serena & Lily version. I am using them in my living room on the back of our leather chairs to lighten things up for summer. I’ll be sure to post a room update soon so you can see just how perfect these are in real life. I plan to grab another one or two before they’re gone {maybe in another color} to use elsewhere in our home.

4 – Over Memorial Day Weekend, I almost bought these blue lens Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses while out shopping when my parents were here. Instead, that Monday night, I searched Overstock and about died when I found them for $50 less than retail. I paid less than $100 with a coupon I had! If you follow me on Instagram, you saw the moment I got them. I see they have since sold out on Overstock, but enter your email and they will let you know once they are back in stock {they are also available here}!

5 – So, have you heard about the new app, Pippit? Here’s a great post about it from one of the founders, Joy Cho of Oh Joy! My sister-in-law tipped me off to it on Monday, and I’ve seen it all over Instagram since. It’s basically a blog reader / Pinterest / Instagram hybrid that let you add multiple tags, links, etc. to images. If you’re a blogger, you can also auto-import your RSS feed. It will be interesting to see if it takes off or if an existing app like Pinterest or Instagram adapts quickly with some of these features. It’s still in beta so there are definitely some bugs that need to be worked out, but it looks promising. If you’ve already joined, I’d love for you to follow me at LifeOnVirginiaStreet and I’ll follow you back. We can all work through figuring this app out together! 😉

6 – And this is a bonus item because I had too much to share my first week in 😉 I loved this post from Amy over at The Blissful Bee. She shares an interesting perspective about the blogger behind her blog. She, like myself, works a full-time job and blogs and works on projects in her spare time and sheds some light on the side of life that some perceive as glamorous. I couldn’t have said any of this better and at many times I thought, “are we the same person?” There are times I feel like I just can’t compete with other bloggers, but I need to remember to give myself a break, and that it’s okay that I can’t constantly be churning out new updates/projects. I enjoy blogging to much for it to be an added stress and I need to remember to keep the fun in it! Amy’s post is definitely worth the read!

I hope you enjoyed this first installment of Wednesday Watch List! And, if you haven’t already entered, don’t forget about my TIKI Brand summer giveaway along with the Holly & Martin console table giveaway.
