Welcome to this week’s Wednesday Watch List, where I share the random things that captured my attention and stole my heart over the past week!

1 – I came across this Cape Cod beach house tour from House of Coco Interiors in my search for painted interior doors. The whole home is so serene and beautiful, making blue feel like a neutral! I’m planning to use light blue sofas in our new home, as well, so there are a lot of really cute ideas in this house and portfolio!

2 – I always find this lull between the holidays and spring to be the most difficult when it comes to buying clothes and home decor. Like, it’s not quite time to jump into full-blown spring, but also I don’t love spending a lot on heavy clothes and decor that I’ll have to remove again in another month or two. J. Crew Factory has definitely been my go-to over the past year or two for more affordable pieces that are on-trend without costing an arm and a leg. Here are some cute pieces that would work well over the coming months! All sources are listed below the graphic.

And if you like to pick up a piece or two leading up to Valentine’s Day, they have some cute options right now!

3 – I bring up my favorite weekly desk planner & habit tracker a few times a year, but the start of January always feels like the best time! I peeled off the page of my final week last week and it’s always crazy when that happens! I absolutely love opening my fresh one each year. By the end of each week I have the paper fully covered and it helps me so much to keep track of daily tasks, bigger picture items (I keep those in the to-do section), and habit tracking (I have a mix of personal and work goals I want to complete daily). Highly recommended! I think this is my seventh or eighth year using it and now I have several friends hooked on it, as well!
4 – My friend Brittany over at Loverly Grey had these salt and pepper grinders in one of her gift guides in early November. She said it was her mom’s favorite purchase of the year, and Kurtis and I both adore her mom! It was an immediate add-to-cart moment. We had tried three other grinders throughout the year, and when I tell you they didn’t work, they legit would not work. Some would for a day or two and then would clog. Others, the grinder mechanisms never engaged. It was a battle and we’d keep just going back to our grocery store plastic grinders. Funny enough, Rachel mentioned recently hers weren’t working either (I’m guessing it must be an issue when we have heavy humidity here). We’ve had this set for two months now and love it so much! Zero issues with clogging and it even lights up when you use it so you can actually see how much salt and pepper is getting on your food!
5 – And, as mentioned above, if you find it difficult to decorate for the next month or two, don’t be afraid to use some of your holiday stems in new ways! Following are a mix of wintery and pre-spring options that would work well to add some life to your spaces of the next few months. Or use what you already have (I just try to remove any that have red berries or anything that feels too holiday). All sources are listed below the graphic.

If you would like to follow along on more of my home decor, DIY, lifestyle, travel and other posts, I’d love to have you join me on any of the below channels:

Sarah, I bought the Shawl-collar blazer from J.Crew after you recommended it in one of your recent posts and its honestly one of my favorite purchases ever! I am always hot, and I hate wearing jackets but definitely need something over here in Washington State during the winter months, so this is perfect. Will be wearing it on my upcoming trip in a few days to visit Portland, Maine and Boston, Massachusetts!
As always, I love reading your posts and I am so excited about your new house. My style has definitely evolved over the years, and I am really drawn to the Traditional, New England style (Gil Shafer, Patrick Ahearn are my favorite architects). I feel like your new house is going to have a lot of those elements I love so much. We remodeled our entire home about 2 years ago and I went full in with custom inset cabinetry in my kitchen, lots of pretty veining in the kitchen countertops and bathroom vanities and classic features in the lighting and sconces I chose. I also did a blue sofa in my living room; it was the Marina Slope Arm from PB in Brushed Crossweave Navy with the PB Comfort Square Armchair in Slubby Pinstripe Blue and I built the rest of the room palette from there with greens, and neutral accent pieces. I think you’re going to love how neutral blue can be and the calmness it brings to the room.
Can’t wait to follow along!
Carmen
I’m so happy to hear that Carmen! Thank you for sharing! And it sounds like we’re definitely loving the same vibe right now. Your remodel sounds absolutely beautiful!
