I am sharing with you my best tips for Valentine’s Day entertaining!
I’ve mentioned it before, but Kurtis and I aren’t huge fans of Valentine’s Day. Typically we’ll go to dinner a different night that week (to avoid the crowds) and call it a day. No gifts exchanged or anything. We’re lame. However, today, I’ve teamed up with the Styled + Set crew again, hosted by Lory from Designthusiasm, to share some swoon worthy Valentine’s Day entertaining ideas! If you’re stopping in from Decor Gold Designs, welcome!
Today, I set a Valentine’s themed simple tablescape to share with you. After I arranged the pretty flowers and transformed the dining room, I was suddenly in the mood for Valentine’s Day!
I picked up that gorgeous tall vase over the weekend, and honestly wasn’t sure I was going to keep it. But, once I filled it with some stunning flowers from Trader Joe’s, I immediately knew it was a keeper. I’m completely obsessed with it now. Granted, it’s a bit tall for under our chandelier, but I’m still loving it here.
You know I’m all about simple, so for this Valentine’s Day tablescape, I stuck with sparkling Prosecco, a meat and cheese tray, strawberries and a berry torte. I used my gold dot stemless wine glasses because they seemed fitting for bubbly Prosecco and Valentine’s Day.
This ice mold/wine bottle chiller, may be one of my favorite purchases in a while. You basically can add anything you want to the water in the mold before you freeze it, and you instantly have a beautiful, customized wine chiller! I cut the fresh strawberries into slices and then cut little v’s into the top to try and make them look like hearts. Not sure it was worth my effort since you can barely see them 😉
The tulips I found at Trader Joe’s instantly made it feel like spring is almost here! I rarely decorate with pink, but after this appealing setup, I want to use it more frequently!
I picked up those heart-shaped plates a few weeks ago at Pottery Barn. They were surprisingly affordable and I love that they reminded me of my mom’s special Valentine’s sugar cookies she ships to us each year. They are the best!
I used my favorite affordable velvet pillow covers in a dusky blush pink color at the head chairs. I love the luxe texture and softness they add to the room!
I should note I’m lacking a table runner (and probably needed one) but I fell in love with this red striped one, and refused to pay $60 for it. So, it’s looking a little naked (but I’m also $60 richer since I didn’t buy it).
I hope you enjoyed this glimpse of my stylish Valentine’s Day entertaining style!

I cannot believe I didn’t realize you were using H & M for cushion covers – and such great prices!! I have been debating (and perhaps, procrastinating) making some covers for the many cushions that I already own that are in storage. I will not be doing that now that I know about these! Thanks for the tip!

Yes! That’s where I ordered my navy blue and dark green ones that I use ALL the time. They’re obviously not luxury velvet at that price, but honestly, I think they look beautiful and are a total steal! I seriously want them in every color – it’s not even worth my time to try and make my own.

Love this!….Simple and dreamy. Glad you didn’t spend the $$ on the runner…it’s beautiful just like it is!

I would have totally overlooked that centerpiece from PB, too. But it’s incredible with those flowers and greenery. I have a $25 reward to use there, plus today there is a 25% off + free shipping code. I think I found my ITEM!! I think the runner would be too much. It’s perfection the way it is.

Sarah, I’m in love with that floral and I love it in the vase. I saw your story on Insta about the vase and I just knew it would turn out great… 🙂 I didn’t even notice the height until you mentioned it. But I did notice the heart shaped strawberries, so I think it WAS worth the effort!! I love the simplicity of the meal you’ve presented. It looks quite tempting!
Kelly says
Terrific ideas Sarah! LOVE the strawberries!! Great to tour with you.

I love pink in your home Sarah! You styled your table beautifully and I think this is way better than fighting the crowds on Valentine’s Day!

Sarah, this is such a beautiful table! We usually get together with another couple for Valentine’s and take turns hosting at home. To beat the crowds, and really, a wonderful dinner at home is way more relaxing! Thank you for the inspiration, I love being on this Valentine Entertaining Tour with you!
