Two Year Update

On December 19th, we celebrated the second anniversary of living in our home {you can see the one-year anniversary in this post}. I know it’s becoming a bit redundant, but moving in this house was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made and quite honestly, we see ourselves never leaving. Unless it’s to the Caribbean or Hawaii. But only then will it be allowable 😉

I thought it would be fun to see everything that was accomplished in the second year of owning our home. When compared with the first year post,  you can see we’ve made a lot of changes in the first two years! Most have been cosmetic updates so maybe 2015 will be the year of the BIG updates.

In January, I shared my Home Office Reveal. It is still one of my favorite spaces in our house! Which is good, considering I spend 90% of my awake home time in this room.

Office Reveal Before and After

In March, I shared a few makeovers. First up, I shared our basement staircase makeover.

A few days later, I revealed our Guest Bathroom Makeover. This is the least used bathroom in our home, however, after I finished the bedroom makeover in 2013, I felt like this bathroom needed a little loving too. After living with this cabinet color for almost year, I can say it will likely change in the future. It’s a little too bold for my style. But changing it at this point is literally at the bottom of my to-do list.

In April, I shared several updates. First up was sharing our King Guest Bedroom reveal. This is another room makeover that, although I changed several times throughout the process, I’m still not feeling is 100% me. I see some minor updates in the future. Again, though, low on the priority list.

In April, I also finally finished my laundry room makeover! I love how much brighter and fun this room is. Because laundry in general is not fun, so it is better to have a pretty room to tackle the piles in.

I was also able to finish our white-washed stone fireplace {after having done a gray-wash on it last year – which I wasn’t 100% happy with}. I don’t love it a million percent, but it definitely feels better and blends more with the style of my decor now.

We traveled for the last part of April and the first part of May so I didn’t have any big reveals in May. But, in June, I transformed my craft room in 21 days, and I love how it turned out!

In August, I shared a sneak peek of our master bathroom refresh {which, truthfully, still isn’t done}. But, the lighter {and satin} paint helps to brighten the previously dark space.

I also shared the before and after in our entryway with the gray-painted door. This also happened to make the Top 10 list I shared yesterday. Such an easy transformation with a huge impact!

Upgrade Your Interior Doors with Paint

In September, I updated our entryway further by adding a bench, some throw pillows and some DIY artwork. I feel like the space is much more complete now! Plus the cats are obsessed with this bench, and really, their happiness is everything 😉

We also managed to make some good progress in our yard this year, including nearly a dozen new hydrangea plants, two new trees, other miscellaneous plants including lavender, knock-out roses, ornamental grasses and the installation of a fence on our back lot line.

We also started updating our mudroom this fall, which is still a major work in progress {I need it to warm up so I can paint the cabinets outside!} But, I’m loving the progress we have made so far {new chandelier, planked wall, extended height on our cabinets, wall color, and eventual trim/bench color}.

I know it may surprise you, but the wheels are already spinning it my mind as to what projects we’ll complete in 2015. Regardless, I love how far we’ve come so far! We really are loving ever square inch of this home.

    Hi there,
Your home is beautiful! I am dying to have that desk. Did you make it or purchase it? Is there a website with DIY instructions, or a place to purchase?? Thanks!!!
