Two Weeks

Home Tour

Last night marked two full weeks in our new house. It has gone very quickly, but at the same time we both ask ourselves why it feels like we have lived here forever. Crazy how that happens.

I decided to share some photos of how our home currently looks. Most of the boxes have finally been unpacked, but as you will quickly see, we haven’t done anything with any room other than the dining room. I think one of my 2013 resolutions will have to be to slowly take on a room at a time and finish it, rather than rushing and feeling like I have to finish each room NOW. I’m not known for my patience.

These photos were all taken tonight so they are dark and grainy. All window coverings in these photos were left with the house, so I will slowly work on updating those as well {although I am pretty happy with the coverings in the living room}. The rooms don’t look like much right now, but one week ago the boxes were chest high in all of these rooms, so it feels like SERIOUS progress.

Living Room:

Kitchen {island lights will be getting swapped this weekend}:

Office {where I have spent 90% of my awake time}:

Office continued – photo demonstrates the first “curtains” that need to be replaced – this is actually four shower curtains {a clever idea} but this window faces the street and the curtains are transparent. The pattern is definitely visible street-side and doesn’t go with much of our decor.

Guest Bedroom:

Guest Bedroom:

Bedroom #4/My Craft Room/Current Junk/Misc/Was-Going-To-Be-My-Master-Closet-Room:

Master Bedroom:

And just for fun the photos from when we toured the house vs. now – matching rooms are side by side:

After move-in, we were quickly reminded that our two oldest cats are TERRIFIED of ceiling fans. I trained them well 😉 The living room and bedroom light are going to have to be swapped out soon to avoid any unnecessary trauma {on their part and mine}.

Now that most of the boxes are unpacked, let the decorating fun begin! Anybody have four showers they need matching curtains for?

It’s looking great – can’t wait to see it and all the work you’ve already done.
