I don’t know about you, but November and December are two of my favorite months to buy clothes. In the summer, I tend to bum around in shorts, old tees, and flip flops. But, when the holidays approach, I love stepping it up a bit and wearing more festive and dressier options! Plaid, sparkles, ruffles, and this year in particular, velvet! I’ve been a huge advocate for using velvet in the fall and winter months around the home, but this year, it’s time to bring this beautiful, textured textile into our wardrobes! Today I’m rounding up some of my favorite velvet items for the season!

Gorgeous velvet clothing and accessory options from Nordstrom that are all perfect for the fall and winter months! A great way to elevate your holiday fashion! #sponsored #velvet #fashion

Velvet Wrap Heels | Sweater with Velvet Tie Back | Velvet Mock-Neck Tee

Velvet Blazer | Velvet Ballcap | Velvet Mules

Velvet Skirt | Dress with Velvet Tie | Plaid Blazer with Velvet Tie

Necklace with Velvet Tie | Pink Velvet Pumps | Velvet Clutch

Whether it’s an actual velvet top or blazer, or a sweater with velvet accents, the look is so perfect for the holidays. It’s a great way to look festive without looking over the top or cheesy. Which is great, because the trend is everywhere! I tend to look for classic lines and tailored shapes but updated with the look of velvet. The other great feature of velvet is that you can wear virtually any color, but because of its texture, it looks ready for fall and winter (even pastels)!

I have a long list of gorgeous velvet finds below, but I’ll draw your attention to a few of my top favorites. Top on my list is this sweater with velvet tie back. It comes in three colors and I love them all! But I can’t decide between the olive and the muslin with the black tie. It’s a great way to introduce the trend in your closet without going with an all-out velvet piece. I’m also loving this Madewell mockneck velvet tee. It comes in three colors, but I’m loving the golden rust color! I’ve had this velvet blazer for a few years, and it’s definitely been a closet staple in the colder months. It’s so easy to dress up or down by swapping out tops, pants and shoes!  And if you’re in the market for a holiday dress, be sure to check out all the gorgeous velvet dress options Nordstrom has to offer! I want to try it all since there is free shipping and free returns!

More of my favorite velvet pieces for the season are shown below. Simply click (or double-tap on mobile) any of the items you wish to learn more about!

Are you embracing the velvet trend this year? I just can’t get enough of it! Thank you to Nordstrom for partnering with me on this post! I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my velvet favorites!
