I don’t know what it is about summer, but I find my wardrobe suddenly becomes much more vibrant and saturated! I’m all about the neutrals in the colder months, but come summertime, I love wearing bright colors (a summer tan may be the instigator here).
I’m so excited to share a new summer collection that launches this morning, designed by my sweet and talented friend Cassie from Hi Sugarplum and Gibson! This post is not sponsored, but Cassie had reached out to see if I wanted to get a sneak preview of any of the pieces before the launch, and I love what I ordered so much I wanted to share with all of you today! I’ll be sharing some fit tips along the way, along with a few of the items I still plan to order during today’s launch!

The Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Summer of Color Collection may just be my favorite yet of all of their collections. Funny enough, we were in the Mediterranean when Cassie emailed me with a preview, and several of the pieces she shared with me was named after a place we had either just visited or were about to visit!
The majority of the collection is around $50, with nothing over $100 (including the dresses)! Not only that, every piece is available in a huge range of sizes including petite, plus and regular sizing (from XXS Petite to 3X)! I love that the collection was designed to be mixed and matched with other pieces in the collection, with the bold colors inspired by the Mediterranean.

A quick note on the sizing I chose. I wasn’t 100% sure how things would fit so I chose a variety of sizes to make sure pieces worked. With that being said, I’ll tell you which size I’m wearing in each of these pieces and then sizing tips and which size I wish I went with. I also reached out to Cassie for tips on sizing after the fact, and she felt like nearly every single piece in this collection fits true to size with the exception of the Paros Henley Tank running slightly big and the Capri Tiered Skirt runs slightly small. I am 5’8″ and typically wear a size large on top and 12 on bottom.

The Ibiza One-Shoulder Ruffle top is one of my top picks! It was hard to pick a color/pattern option because there are so many cute ones to choose from! I’m in an extra-large but feel like my regular size (large) would have been a better fit. I can’t get over this print and it looks just as cute paired with white denim as it does cut-off shorts or the matching skirt!

The Paros Henley Tank is another favorite! It runs a little big but I’m shown in a large here. The bold blue and white stripes are the epitome of summer!
I love that it can be worn a bit longer more like a tunic style, or knotted in front for a whole new look! It’s one of those effortless tops you can throw on and be comfy but still look polished!

The Naxos Embroidered tank was one of my favorite finds! It’s a basic tank in front but the back is pure magic! These fit differently from others in prior collections. It’s made mostly of rayon and clings a bit more than the cotton versions. The embroidered detail is everything and I loved it so much I had to try it in two colors. I have the medium on in the blue and the large in the white, but I probably would have been even more comfortable in an extra large for a slightly less body-con fit. Sadly there is a slight delay on this one, but I’ve heard it may be ready tomorrow!

The Sicily Embroidered Racerback Dress may just be the softest material I’ve ever felt! It is so comfy and also includes some really pretty embroidering in the back. I’m wearing an XL here and it’s a bit roomy, but I think it will be perfect for days I want to wear it as a bathing suit cover-up or to run errands in with a pair of flip flops!

I’ve seen enough of the Cavallo Ruffle Neck Dress in pics to know it will probably be one of the first to sell out (I’m loving it in that Chili Pop print and the Vista Cherry)! That neckline and back tie detail are so good!
Following are a few other favorites from the collection. They all come in tons of fun colors but it’s not letting me change the color on the widget. If you click through you should be able to see all the current color/pattern inventory.
Some of you may remember, several pieces from the Resort Collection sold out within hours earlier this year! These embroidered tanks are still some of my favorites from that collection and they have been fully re-stocked recently! These tops do run slightly large, so I found a medium worked best for me. The embroidery detail on the back is stunning!
