Today I’m sharing a “summer” tour of our home. I’ve partnered up with several bloggers for a week of fun home tours {be sure to stop by all the links at the bottom of this post}. And welcome to Life On Virginia Street if this is your first time visiting my blog!
My summer planters are some of my favorite “decor” items for summer. I love the infusion of color in our outdoor spaces, especially after such a long and cold winter.
Overall, my decorating style is neutral and clean. That holds especially true in the summer when I really like to let the view to the outdoors shine. Welcome to our home!
To see how I made the simple 4th of July art above, visit this post.
The living room has also received a few summer/spring updates. Now if I could only get rid of that ceiling fan! 😉
I added some affordable blue herringbone throws from Target to the back of the leather chairs to help lighten things up in the living room. Between the dark leather and dark wood coffee table, it can feel a bit heavy in here at times. The throws were the perfect addition!
The addition of this large seagrass tray {from HomeGoods} helps to add a summer vibe and also helps break up all the darkness of the coffee table.
I also added a few springs of {fake} greenery and floral to the glass vases on the mantle for spring/summer. An easy and affordable way to make the space feel different for the changing seasons.
Moving on to the dining room, I added several ombre-like glass vases, some grapevine {which I think looks a lot like driftwood} and some fresh hydrangea blooms from the courtyard.
Here was the space last summer once all of our knockout roses started blooming outside. I loved it!
In the office, things are more organic and natural feeling. This is where I spend most of my time and as I blog at my computer, I love looking out the front yard to my left and the courtyard to my right. The outdoors are definitely as much a part of this space as the indoors!
The guest rooms don’t change much either, but the angle of the sun makes for some beautiful lighting.
The courtyard is one of our favorite spaces in our home, although it’s actually outside. The courtyard is wrapped by my office, the long entry hallway and our dining room so it feels like another living space to us. We love to enjoy breakfast out here as well as nights with friends around the firepit roasting marshmallows.

I love it all, your home is so bright and inviting. Stunning.
Pretty home! What color is your exterior front door?
Hi Jan – Unfortunately I’m not 100% sure on this one since it was here when we moved in. However, we have the leftover paint cans and I can see it is Phantom Mist (they used Sherwin Williams but I’m thinking it was color matched from another paint line).
Your home is stunning! I love every little details!♥
I love your entry way Sarah 🙂 Also the branches in the jars are really beautiful. Beautiful home! xo Kristin

Love the decor!!! Where did you get the glass vases, especially the bottleneck ones from the living room?
Thank you Shanna! I got most of them at either HomeGoods or TJ Maxx. I’ve had to collect them over time because they seem to be hard to come by!
In l o v e with your entryway! The grey, white, and the chandelier are great! What is the grey paint color?
The walls are painted Behr Castle Path. I have the same color in most on my house but it definitely looks grayer and lighter in the entryway. I love the color because I feel like it’s the perfect greige.
Yes, it does read grey in the pictures! Beautiful shade nonetheless…
Beautiful! I love your style. Each room has a luxurious feel but it’s comfortable, too. Thanks for sharing!
i noticed you mentioned the hall paint color is Behr Castle Path, but is that the same color you used for the living room and Stairwell area? it looks different to me but could just be the light. I’m looking for a neutral, beachy color, less grey…
Yes, it is in all of those areas, but you’re right – it looks different with the light. It is much warmer toned in much of our home. The entryway hall gets a TON of natural light so it looks lighter and grayer there. I think it is a really good inbetween greige color. Probably worth checking out the paint sample for you as it sounds like what you’re looking for 🙂
I can’t get over how light and airy it is! It’s very similar to our bedroom style actually which I shared on my blog along with a print giveaway!
http://www.hammerandheelsblog.com/our-bedroom-gallery-wall-giveaway/
I love everything about your home. Do you know what wall colors you used in each room. Love love love the bright airy feel.
Thx
Thanks! The main paint color throughout our home is Behr Castle Path, but you can also find a full listing of paint colors here: https://lifeonvirginiastreet.com/source-lists/paint-colors/
Everything looks so light and bright and fresh! Looking forward to seeing all the summer tours!
Absolutely stunning! Can you tell me where the lamps came from that are on the buffet in your living room?
Thank you so much! The brand is Kenroy Home and you can get them on Amazon. I have them linked under the last living room picture if you’re interested 🙂
I LOVE the pillows in your living room. Can you share the source or fabric name/colors?
Thank you! Actually they are all linked to each of the fabric names so you should be able to click over and see them 🙂
