Summer Guest Bedrooms

Home Tour

Tour our summer guest bedrooms and get inspired with some fresh decor updates!

I’m so excited that summer has officially started! Today I’ve teamed up with my friend Nina Hendrick and some of my favorite, talented bloggers to share even more of my summer home tour with the reveal of our summer guest bedrooms.

For those that are new here, I like to keep things simple, even for seasonal decorating. A few new throw pillows, soft blankets, accessories, and I’m good to go.

Today I’m going to share some recent summer updates to our guest bedrooms. We’ve had a full house of guests this past week so it felt important to get those updated first! But, you should also check out more of our summer home tour if you’re interested in seeing more of the living spaces in our home and haven’t already done so! I’ll share all the sources for everything shown after each room tour.

I recently made some new paisley throw pillows for our main guest bedroom. I’ve linked to Etsy shops below that make pillows in the same fabric. I can never get enough of the bold blue, green and neutral/white combo! It feels especially fresh in the summer months.

Moving on to our smaller guest bedroom, I recently made some changes by swapping out the pillows and adding a new nightstand for the side of the bed. I love the warmth the wood tones add to the space.

A coastal bedroom with white bedding, blue and white throw pillows, a linen bench, crystal semi flushmount chandelier, palmetto branch, white and wood vase, aqua lamp and ribbon-trimmed roman shades. Love that striped wood nightstand!

I absolutely love the blue/green/white combination. My house is full of camel-colored walls and warm reds/yellows and I am SO TIRED of it after so many years, but I don’t know if I have the energy to transition an entire house. But seeing this room gives me the inspiration to start the process. I will soon be 60 and I want to live in a home that I love instead of wishing I lived in other people’s houses. You have such a great eye, and I just love the crisp, uncluttered feel of your beautiful home.

Thank you so much for the sweet note! I used to have the exact same color scheme you mentioned in our first house. I think that’s what the trend was at the time and I finally realized it just wasn’t “me”. It does take a lot of work to make the updates, but if you love blue/green/white I think you’d be super happy you made the changes and could enjoy your home. I am so happy I did! 🙂
