Guest Bedroom with a Blue Headboard

Room Makeovers + Design Plans

I mentioned in this post that the queen guest bedroom was only about 90% of the way done – with a headboard and new light fixture on the top of the list of things that had yet to be completed. I had been aggressively pursuing my ideal headboard – cheap, navy blue, with nailhead trim – on sites like One Kings Lane, Joss & Main, Overstock, etc. as I knew I had seen similar models. But with this being our lesser used guest room, I wanted to spend less than $200 on something. Introducing our guest bedroom with a blue headboard.

And then I found the one. I went with the Safavieh Connie Blue Headboard {Queen size} – as I’m sure you guessed by my super original title. It was on sale {I believe at 10% off} plus I had received a 12% off coupon and had some ‘O’ Dollars to use. So, this bad boy came in at just over $150 – making it even that more perfect. It only had one review {which was a 1-star: yikes} but I still moved forward – and I love it. And can I just throw in a free plug for Overstock – they seriously rock {which I already knew} – I ordered this on a Monday evening and it was on my doorstop by Friday morning. For free. Even though it was definitely an oversized package.

It isn’t a true navy – more cobalt/navy blend. But it works well in this room. I would describe the fabric as a microsuede-type texture and the nailheads are silver. Perfect for this room.

This is certainly not an item I would pick for our master bedroom, but I feel like I can have a bit more fun in the guest bedrooms – hence this blue headboard and the stripes in the other room. I think the blue is versatile and classic enough that when I get sick of these pillows it will still work well with a lot of other color combos.

P.S. Seriously?!? How is it already August…
