I mentioned a few posts back that I don’t plan to decorate the inside of our home for fall. With the move (and still some missing furniture) I’m focusing on getting the basics in place before refocusing on the holidays in a month or two. But, I’ve started to decorate our front porch for fall and wanted to share some recent finds with you today!

With the move, I donated all of my wreaths other than my faux evergreen ones I use at Christmas time. So rather than buying summer wreaths that I’d only leave up for a few weeks, I opted to buy some fall wreaths so the exterior matches the upcoming season.
Our new front porch has two doors – the front entrance and the side entrance that leads into our mudroom (and also up to the carriage house). We tend to use the side entrance the most because we leave our shoes in the mudroom.

I recently ordered a large planter for the spot near the side door from a local shop and it has been delivered. I’m still waiting on the two smaller planters I’ll put on each side of the front step.
I turned to Wayfair to search for wreaths since I know they have a huge selection and find their review sections very helpful (especially customer photos)! Since I knew I’d need two matching or coordinating wreaths, I decided to order one of two options (an early fall wreath and a later fall wreath). A few days ago, I decorated the side door since the planter there had arrived. Now that I know I love them both, I’ll be ordering one more of each, so I can have matching ones on the two doors.
Here’s how my “early fall” magnolia wreath looks on the side door. I absolutely love it! Our mangolia trees thrive here year round, so I feel like this is a wreath I could easily adjust seasonally. For example, the addition of a pretty velvet bow would make it perfect for the holidays!

Next up I tried this faux wheat wreath that I thought would be perfect for late fall and the Halloween season. The yellow tone of the wheat looks really pretty with the blue gray front door!

Here’s a closer look at this one, as well. The wheat is plastic, so I don’t have to worry about it rotting or molding in our still very hot and humid conditions.
I love how it all turned out!

We have the exact planter next to our door. How did you plant in it? I usually just plop a fern in its original container into the container. I wasn’t sure how to fill it up with plants.
