When I find something I love, I tend to stick with it, and today’s post is definitely about loyalty. Loyalty to a scent (if there is such a thing)!
Last week I shared tips on how to select the perfect artificial Christmas tree. But I also mentioned how it makes me just a little sad to buy artificial because you lose the wonderful scent from fresh pines.
Today, I want to share my number one favorite holiday scent – one that I seem to share year after year because I have yet to find one I love more!
I first bought the Thymes Frasier Fir in 2008 when I was in Minnesota visiting my grandma. I remember it like it was yesterday. My mom, grandma and I were out shopping in the cute lakeside town of Alexandria and we were shopping in this cute clothing boutique (one I still remember and love to this day). When I smelled the Frasier Fir, I instantly fell in love. It may sound a bit cheesy but its true! I am usually not one that likes earthy or pine scents, but something about it smelled like Christmas in a candle and I couldn’t resist. It has a fresh-pine-mixed-with-sweetness scent that I just can get enough of (you can read the official scent description here).
I first blogged about it back in 2008 (yes, I seriously had a blog that long ago) and said it was one of my favorite parts of Christmas. And it still is to this day. Isn’t it funny how a scent can stir such a specific memory, to the point I even remember the exact moment when I bought it for the first time?
This year, Thymes is offering the Frasier Fir in this gorgeous, gold-rimmed faux bois pattern. It feels so posh to me and is perfect for all of the winter months!
This year, I also got this sink set (which is also housed on a faux bois stand). Perfect for our powder bath!
I’ve also been using the dish soap and all-purpose spray in Frasier Fir, as well. Go big or go home 😉 Somehow, dishes don’t seem nearly as bad when I have this scent around and the view of the tree twinkling in the background!
Burning this scent has quickly become one of our favorite Christmas traditions over the past years, and I’m in love with the additional product lines I can now get in the Frasier Fir scent! I feel like I may never have to buy a real Christmas tree again for this reason alone!
A big thanks goes out to Thymes for sponsoring this post. They are also generously offering a free Thymes sample set (of 14 fragrances) with any purchase of $25 or more for my blog readers if you use the code TRADITION5 at checkout. It’s never too early to start gift planning, and the sample set would be a great way to test all the scents in order to customize each of your gift orders!
Do you have a favorite Christmas scent? I’d love to hear yours!

You are so right, Sarah — Thymes Frasier Fir is my number one Christmas scent as well! To me, the fragrance is very natural, not overpowering and smells most like a fresh-cut Christmas tree. And I’m loving the faux bois ceramic pillar holder this year!
I’ll have to try this out. I loved having our real Frasier Fir– my fav tree– last year for that natural aroma, but it’s just not practical for us. I have been looking everywhere for a good scent and mostly gag when I smell them! ???? I so wanted to love those real tree scent sticks you put in your tree, but I didn’t find them all that pleasant. I’ll definitely try this out. Thanks for the suggestion, Sarah!
I love Frasier Fir too! The candles last forever and I love that I can smell them in the room even when they’re not burning. Can’t wait to bust mine out after Thanksgiving!
These look amazing. That candle is absolutely gorgeous. I will have to try them. Loved this post! XooX

What store in Alexandria?! My family lives close by and I’d love to stop by over the holidays!
That’s awesome! For the life of me I cannot remember the name of it right now (I haven’t been back there for about three years). But it’s on Main Street (on a corner) and they used to carry clothes, scarves, pillows and jewelry that were watercolor florals and I loved everything so much. It was so beautiful and unique. Last time I was in, I don’t remember as much of those items (although there were some) but they still had a lot of really cute things. They carry a lot of Thymes products as well. Hopefully this description will help someone point you in the right direction 🙂
Thanks!!
That’s my favorite Thymes scent, too!
I’ve always been a huge fan of Frazier fir! Love!
