A Mini Entryway Makeover
Since we’ll be hosting Christmas for Kurtis’ side of the family this year over New Year’s weekend, I had a few places around our home I still needed to decorate for the holidays. We also have a spot where our two staircases meet that seems to become a dumping ground for things that need to either go upstairs or to the basement. It also seems to be the recipient of random decor that I don’t necessarily intend to put there but never get around to moving.
I decided with company coming into town, it was time to fix that! You guys all know I’ve been a long-time fan of tjmaxx.com and its family of brands! I love finding designer-inspired look for less pieces and scoring one of a kind items for our home! I found a couple of items a few weeks ago that I fell in love with and knew would be perfect for this little space. Since it’s also right off the entryway, I wanted to make sure the spot set the tone for the rest of the house. I wanted to keep the makeover simple and affordable, as well as seasonless, so it can stay the same for the next however many years! I brought in this lamp, this large and medium sized basket (they also have a small size available), this cute wood chain decor, and this coffee table book I’ve had my eye on for awhile. Here’s how the space looks now with these new accessories!
I love that the baskets can hold shoes we’d otherwise leave near the front door, and the lamp provides some really nice ambient lighting in the evenings that we were previously missing! We walk past this spot multiple times a day, and I love how excited I get now every time I see how cute it turned out!
Here’s a closer look at the wood chain decor. It comes in two stain options and is currently on clearance! I also love the linen texture on the coffee table book!
I also tried this pretty wood bead and glass garland. I love the pretty blue glass at the end of the garland! I also layered in this coffee table book (a long-time favorite!) to bring in a little more blue. Here is a similar one from the same author that also looks fun!
It’s hard to pick a favorite!
