Hi there! I’m Shayna from The Wood Grain Cottage and I’m so happy to be filling in for Sarah while she’s away on vacation! Lucky girl! My husband, Anthony, and I recently built our home on our farm in Colorado and have been busy adding character and cottage/ farmhouse-y style one room at time. As inspiration strikes, I sweet talk him into helping me with another project, which makes me even more in love with our home! In the mean time, we’re both enjoying the progress and journey! Today, I thought I’d share our kitchen and breakfast nook. They’re both a favorite of mine!
We’re still busy working away in here, and I can hardly wait until we get around to installing our backsplash, but I’m absolutely loving the progress we’ve made this far!
I spend the majority of my time in our kitchen. From baking to projects, our kitchen island has seen it all…
Plenty of our DIY projects are mixed in there too, like this spoon & pallet hook rack…Â And our stackable fruit crates…
Our breakfast nook is another favorite of mine. It was one of the first rooms that we decided to makeover after we moved in. We added the built in bench for seating and storage, then added the plank wall. This is the room that started it all…. You could say it was my launching pad.
I really like to display my collections…
And this room is perfect for it…
Our kitchen shelves make it easy for me to display what I love too…
I might have a slight obsession with white dinnerware and iron stone…
They’re just too pretty not to display…
