Finding Inspiration & “Me Time” in the New Year

Finding inspiration & “me time” in the New Year are my goals for change!

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and PEOPLE StyleWatch® and Real Simple® but all my opinions are my own. #PMedia #NewYearMeTime  http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

It’s so easy to get caught up in day-to-day life, especially around the holidays. I always like to use January as a month to decompress and unwind to start the year fresh. I also tend to get re-energized once the Christmas decor is packed away and I see my home in “normal” mode.

Inspiration In January

As you know, I started my dining room makeover over over the past week. After days on a step stool of moving furniture, reaching and painting, I tend to have go into “crash” mode at night and look for ways to unwind even further, especially once I have to go back to my day job during the week.

Ways To Unwind

I was at Walmart last week to pick something up and also added these current magazines and a small bunch of pretty flowers to my cart. To me, nothing says relaxing like a little “me time” to dig through my favorite magazines {I subscribe to entirely too many}, with a favorite candle lit, drink in hand and a pretty bunch of flowers. It feels like one of those little luxuries in life!

A candle and red flowers beside it.

Magazines beside the candle and flowers.

I always love to review the next season’s fashions, especially in the winter when I know warm weather is not too far around the corner. These three pages from PEOPLE StyleWatch® really excited me. Nautical stripes, blingy necklaces some killer {affordable} heels and extra-natural make-up. Sounds like the spring trends are right up my alley and totally achievable on this end! Those heels are as good as purchased for me.

Styling Inspiration From Magazines

One of the things I draw inspiration from is the styling in some of the magazines I read. I love to see how different items are all compiled for one cohesive look. When I’m feeling extra motivated and artsy, I love to find ways to style my photos, particularly for Instagram or vignettes in house tours. I love this spread that was in Real Simple®. Various winter looks arranged in an interesting and beautiful manner.

There is definitely a reason I am such a magazine addict. It’s so easy to get lost in the articles and pretty images, if even for a few minutes at a time. Definitely something we all need and I know it’s something I need to make a conscious effort to do more of in the New Year!

How do you unwind after the pressure and stress of the holidays? Are you a magazine addict like I am? If you’re interested, you can save $1.00 on ONE (1) PEOPLE®, InStyle®, PEOPLE StyleWatch®, All You®, or Real Simple® magazine. The Walmart digital coupon is available 1/14/15-2/16/15 (while supplies last). To access the coupon you must be a member/subscriber to Walmart.com. Thank you to all of you that support my sponsors that make this blog possible on a daily basis!

Real Simple is one of my favorite magazines, too. I have a stack of them in my living room (they’re decorative, too!).
