Easy Summer Tablescape Ideas

Today I’m sharing four easy summer tablescape ideas you can mix and match for your next summer gathering or dinner at home! I tried to use a mix of pieces for a variety of budgets. None of them are fussy and it took about ten minutes max to set each of them up!

Italian Coastal Fish Tablescape

This first tablescape is what I would consider Italian coastal. Think Amalfi coast but casual and more beachy mixed with some fish, if that’s a thing 😉 I mixed and matched some melamine serving pieces with stoneware, simply because I loved the patterns together so much!

FISH TABLESCAPE SOURCES: Striped Tablecloth | Woven Fish Napkin Rings | Wave Napkins | Striped Melamine Dinner Plates | Wave Bowls | Fish Plates | Mint Coupe Glasses | Plastic Handle Flatware | Glass Vase (filled with fresh lemons and fresh palm stems) | Metal Fish Bottle Opener | Clamshell Drink Holder | Dining Table | Dining Chairs

Don’t always feel the need to get fresh flowers for dinner parties either! I just filled this vase with fresh lemons and some palm clippings from our yard. Regardless of the climate you live in, I’m guessing most people have access to something that could be clipped and beautiful in a vase! Think tree branches that need trimmed, shrubbery, flowers from your yard, or just some produce that needs to be used. It doesn’t have to be fancy!

Perhaps my favorite find of this tablescape (and in the top rankings for the year), is this clamshell drink holder! It has a shiny pearl-like finish on the inside and more matte on the outside. You could also totally use it as decor inside or outside!

I made a video of the full tablescape here if you prefer video over still photos!

Neutral Coastal Tablescape

This next tablescape is also coastal, but many of the pieces could be mixed and matched with other finds if you don’t want to go the coastal route! This chambray tile melamine collection is some of the most beautiful out there! We’ve owned it for over a year, and it has a really beautiful texture with a matte finish and a nice weight to it. You would never know it was melamine if you didn’t touch it! They actually sell the stoneware version too though if the melamine isn’t your thing.

COASTAL TABLESCAPE SOURCES: Chambray Tile Melamine Dinner Plates | Chambray Tile Melamine Bowls | Cane Wrapped Glasses | Linen Napkins | Coral Napkin Holders | Bamboo Style Flatware | Rechargeable Table Lamps | Raffia Shades | Seashell Garland | Glass Colorblocked Vase | Dining Table | Dining Chairs

These coral napkin holders might just be my favorite ever! I’ve owned these linen napkins for possibly a decade now, and they just get better and better with each wash! I love the lived-in linen look.

I’m still a huge fan of these rechargeable table lamps we’ve had for a few years now. They’re so versatile and great for indoor or outdoor dinners. I love them so much I have the blue, green and white! They’re even more fun now that I found these mix and match lamp shades I can use on them.

Italian Countryside Tablescape

If you like the vibes of the Pottery Barn dishes above, but are looking for more affordable options, this set from Walmart is a great alternative for a similar look. It comes in three color options (mine are the blue)

SOURCES: Melamine Dinner Plates | Plastic Stemmed Wine Glass | Bamboo Style Flatware | Linen Napkins | Glass Vase (filled with fresh sunflowers) | Cordless Table Lamps – no longer available | Woven Shades | Dining Table | Dining Chairs

It’s hard to tell from just looking at the plates, but the underside of each of the dishes is a solid matte finish (the blue has a solid blue-green color) which you can see better here.

The coordinating serving platter is a really great size! Plus they also make a chip & dip tray (with removable parts), dip bowls, and large serving bowls, all of which we own. And if you are just looking for dishes, they offer this 12-piece set with dinner plates, salad plates and cereal bowls to serve four. Here you can also see a better shot of the interior finish on the clamshell drink holder without any ice/drinks in it.

These glass vases are such an incredible value. I’ve had this one for a few years now, and it’s still one of my favorites to use because it’s not so large that you need a hundred flowers to fill it! It’s also a really nice height for table conversations.

Blue Coastal Tablescape

Some of you may have seen this next tablescape before, but it’s still a favorite and thought it was worth including!

Here I used much larger palm fronds to make a big impact on this tablescape. I found these fun beaded “coral” napkin rings at a local shop, BeCasa, during one of their annual sales a few years back. I love using unique pieces like this in a tablescape! These napkin rings would give a similar look.

To balance out the oversized palms, I chose a tablecloth that had some pattern and was a bit more oversized for our table. It has since sold out, but there is a nearly identical one here that comes in a variety of shapes and sizes.
